NAME: Cherub Statue at Faith Baptist Church

This is a piece of religious artwork at a church.  It is at least 35m away from adjacent portals.  It seems pretty straightforward to me, but if more information would be useful, I'd be happy to provide it.

It's a church, in other words, "a public place of worship."  I apologize for the bad photo, but it clearly shows a church.  I also apologize for my misspelling of the portal title in my original submission (I spelled "Northend" as "North End").  If you need further evidence of this church's existence, see https://plus.google.com/106491843119091586036/about.  It's also clearly visible from Street View at https://www.google.com/maps/@38.587078,-90.063803,19z.

This is one of a couple different metal sculptures in Vlasis Park, Ballwin, MO.  Another example is this one (https://www.ingress.com/intel?ll=38.595881,-90.539246&z=17&pll=38.595881,-90.539246).  This particular one has no portals within 35m, so proximity shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for posting, Agent. We think this is a #CoolPortal but it is too close to another Portal to be safely Hacked and cannot be enabled at this time.

Inflammatory headline, but still a good read.

Witnessing all these shootings and killings creates a constant state of terror within minorities, not altogether different from the effect larger populations feel witnessing passenger planes flying into buildings, or gunmen cutting their way through schools and shopping malls, or children blowing themselves up in cramped bazaars. The issue doesn't involve absolute numbers; it involves the effect of knowing that at any time, your number could come up.

The difference is that when the Boston Marathon is bombed, or people fly planes into buildings, or an aggrieved loner goes on a killing spree, we, as a society, pursue justice to the very ends of the earth, if only to sleep better at night. When killer cops rarely, if ever, even step foot in court, let alone get convicted, the absence of immediate justice or punishment leads to an unaddressed fear. It's a fear of ubiquity; a fear that the carnage can be easily replicated, virtually anywhere, by virtually anyone; a fear that our lives don't matter.
Last Saturday, Walter Scott was driving his Mercedes in North Charleston, S.C., when he was pulled over by police officer Michael Slager for driving with a broken taillight. Scott had a complicated life, as many of us do. He was employed and engaged; he owed back child support; in all likelihood he really didn’t want to go to jail. When Slager approached, Scott ran.

This is one of several historic motorcycles inside an Italian restaurant, Cafe Veloce. Since two of them have been approved as portals, it's safe to say they're considered valid based on the criteria. Unfortunately, I submitted these motorcycles before I knew how to geotag my photos, so apparently I misplaced some of them. The above location should be far enough from the two existing portals.

This is a statue at St Gerald Majella Church, a Catholic church.  It is at least 35m away from adjacent portals.  It seems pretty straightforward to me, but if more information would be useful, I'd be happy to provide it.

While there are portals nearby, none of them are within 35m, which I remember being the minimum distance preferred between portals*.  It seems pretty obviously a portal, falling under the "COOL PIECE OF ART OR UNIQUE ARCHITECTURE: Statues, paintings, mosaics, light installations, etc." criterion.

*However, I've seen portals go live recently that are all of 3m apart. #NianticLogic

It seems like NIA Ops is falling apart in dealing with appeals. Some of there denials make no sense. Their... attitude, I don't know what else to call it, but it also has the unfortunate affect of making the regular participants not care and skipping the help that used to happen on most appeals. But maybe that is desired so NIA Ops can spend less time here.

This is a unique barbershop, but it's more than just a place to get a haircut. Here, the mostly male clientele talk with each other and with the barbers about a wide variety of topics. It's a place where men can be men. Of course, there's no rule against women coming in, and when they do, people respect them. For these reasons, I believe it qualifies as a portal because it is "a popular spot where locals gather, but may be lesser-known outside the community" (quoted from the candidate portal criteria).

This is a repost because the first one (https://plus.google.com/+JosephCollins144/posts/6RBxQmyzwSB) got absolutely zero attention.

...Which is something I've considered on several occasions. The primary thing stopping me is all the work involved.
