Has anyone had an issue like this?

All of my cuts seem to have a constant angle on the edges all in the same direction (I.e. not the same and the kerf angle). See the image attached: on the left edge, the side angles out as you go down and on the right edge, the side angles in as you go down. It is almost as if the final mirror on the laser head is not at an exact angle of 45 degrees... It is fairly obvious on all cuts, so I guess it is a significant angle error.

Yeah that sounds like a good thing to look at. I'll check it out next time I head out to the shed :) thanks

Tired of waiting for my air assist from USA so decided to whip up my own :) This is cut from 3mm plywood (the best I can reliably cut without air assist) layers. It has an 8mm input port for either a fitting, or just a silicone tube. Obviously I won't be putting too much pressure through here, but it seems pretty solid, and reeeeally light weight too!

Will post results after installation.

PS: this was done using a LinuxCNC machine, not the moshiboard or whatever.

I couldn't stop laughing when I realised what happened (at around 8-9 min mark). We have all been in a situation like that at least once, where you just feel like the ultimate noob lol and +Dave Jones' reaction was priceless :)

Got my K40 a few weeks ago and I immediately gave up on it in frustration with the terrible software interface and stepper control.

I had a spare PC sitting at home and put LinuxCNC on it, bought about $60 worth of stepper drivers and parallel port adapter.

I'll post the results :)

FYI.
Don't buy anything from light object if you want them to ship it and/or reply to your emails. I purchased an air assist kit for the k40 from the light object website nearly 3 months ago. They have ignored all of my emails except one to say "it takes 4-5 weeks to ship to Australia" despite paying for air freight, and that "I should wait a couple of days". Well I have waited more than 6 weeks (additional to the 5 weeks I already waited before raising my initial concern) now and sent multiple emails requesting updates on the situation, with no reply.

I would contact USPS myself, but non US residents are required to sort out shipping problems through the seller.

+Josef de Joanelli How did you go in the end? I'm thinking about getting a few air assist heads through them, I'm in Melbourne.

Is it fucked up that on my way to work this morning I drove past an Armaguard truck and the first thing I thought was to wing a sticky bomb out the window onto the back doors so I could steal the fat stacks locked inside? +Grand Theft Auto V
