Cantoblanco

London A to Z: London is... Stylish.

The Orangery, a baroque building located next to Kensington Palace, was built in 1705. It had under-floor heating and was used as a conservatory for delicate plants in winter, but also as a sophisticated entertaining place to hold court parties during the rest of the year.

The edifice, open to the public nowadays, is a relaxed and elegant setting for the traditional afternoon tea.
