Founded in 1972, Jordan Vineyard & Winery was inspired by the great wine estates of France and the timeliness connection between food, wine and hospitality. Under the guidance of second-generation vintner John Jordan, Jordan Estate is an extension of these traditions, with its iconic chateau, breathtaking views, gardens and chef’s inventive cuisine, offering a distinctive sense of place in Sonoma wine country.

Jordan welcomes guests by appointment for three distinctive tours and tastings, all hosted at Jordan Estate in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley. From a tasting in our private library to a tour through our iconic chateau or an epicurean excursion across the breathtaking estate, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Advance reservations are required due to the intimacy of the experiences.

We couldn't schedule a tour due to a time conflict but dropped in just to see the manor from the drive. We happened to note the office entrance was open (not a car around in the lot) and a most cordial receptionist greeted us and invited us to look around and take our time. The Winemaker (Rob Davis), came over to meet us and chat and, as we shared the same name, it was a most pleasant and cordial visit with him...very genuine person. We were invited to tour the grounds on our own (magnificent setting) and came back home to Louisiana with great memories of very nice people and a beautiful winery plus great wine. We will go back next trip out west.

There are literally hundreds (maybe thousands) of wineries you can visit in California. Very few are anything like Jordan. From the classy chateau covered with ivy to the well manicured landscaping, Jordan is a family owned winery that sucks you in so you don't want to leave. Although it might look a bit too classy (read: snooty) it's actually not. They're more laid back now that the younger Jordan family member has taken over. Their various events throughout the year are a good excuse to come check out the awesome view overlooking roughly 1,700 acres of sustainable farmland and vineyards. I've been to Jordan a half dozen times, and every time I leave wondering why I don't go back more. Best time of year to visit IMO is fall because the foliage around the property, in the vineyards and on the walls of the winery are magnificent colors. Definitely a place to visit at least once in your life if you're a wine lover.

Outstanding wine tasting experience - and wines. Christopher was our personal host and ensured a fun and informative time. Reservations are a must - but you might get lucky and be able to book immediately, as we did. Taste in very elegant surroundings - a couple of libraries in a French-style chateau, paired with gourmet accompaniments prepared by a chef formerly with the Four Seasons in San Francisco. We always enjoy Jordan Cabs and tasting them in this environment was the frosting on the cake. Don't miss this one!
