Does anyone have any real world experience with software that helps to cultivate reviews on Google and other sites?

I have clients that are tempted to sign up for such services. I don't have any first hand experience using any of them, so I can't recommend either way.

I'm intrigued by the idea of being able to catch and address negative reviews before they find their way online.

Software like this (getfivestars dot com) has an interesting approach to filtering and addressing the negative feedback. I'm sure there are others like it.

Would love to hear some thoughts on this.

Since Google moved the goal post for a direct link to your Google review window, I've started using this nifty free tool.

This tool creates direct link to review box in google for your business ( both short and long in four variants )

Is there any way to stop Yahoo from changing "Inc." to "Incorporated" with business listings?  Do you think it creates an NAP discrepancy?

I have a siding/ window contractor client that keeps getting approached by Home Advisor.

Anyone have anything good to say about the quality of leads from Home Advisor? Or anything bad to say for that matter?

Yahoo seems to continually move the goal post. I can't figure out a way to claim a client's existing free listing. Can this still be done?

There used to be a link at the bottom of this page:

It's all gradually moving towards paid for advertising and SEO will diminish. Local SEO in particular.

I recently updated a Google plus page for a client. The page updated but a yellow bar remains at the top that says, "Please review and submit your info." https://www.dropbox.com/s/kb49hnplfp3ka44/Screenshot%202015-07-19%2021.21.15.png?dl=0

When you click it you're brought into the edit window of your listing, and that has a red bar at the top prompting me to review the info and submit. However, when I submit it fails. https://www.dropbox.com/s/75drba8qpuwqyu5/Screenshot%202015-07-19%2021.26.32.png?dl=0

Any thoughts on this?

For what it's worth.  I did contact Google support and and they say there is nothing wrong. All of the changes were previously approved. I suppose I will only have an issue if I want to make any more changes. Then I'll have to call back up and tell them I get an error when I submit a change... (sigh).

An interesting article by an astute marketer about pricing your product or service to suit the needs of multiple market segments.

I love this section where +Ben Hunt  says...

"So why do some people pay a hundred times what other people pay, for the same game? [he's talking about football] Answer that, and you’ll reveal a whole new dimension of marketing!

The simple answer is, people aren’t paying for the game… They’re paying for the game packaged in a way that fulfils their needs."

Web Design That Simply Sells
Introduction
I'm a sales-centric web designer with a strong background in SEO and internet marketing. I'm totally results focused and I design from a marketing perspective.

I love working with small businesses. That's were I feel most at home.

For me, web design is all about understanding the target market and creating a site that get's into the heart and mind of the prospect. When it's done right, the results can be game changing for a small business.

Many of my clients are local to the Hudson Valley region of NY where I live but not all.

Just poor customer service. I asked for a very simple request. I was shipping two boxes going to two different locations. I asked the guy to give me 2 separate receipts like I do at every UPS store I ship from .... But for some reason this guy had to huff and puff and question me and make me explain my reasons for the request. How about, no problem sir, you got it. That would have been more appropriate. The 40 second argument I had with the guy took 10 times longer than it took him to print the second label. UPS would be ashamed...
