ROAD TRIP! New Zealand is a once in a lifetime destination so the more planning you can do, the better.

In this post you'll find 23 road trip itineraries from as few as fours days to 2 months.

There's plenty of highlights, but take the experience of those who have been. Check 'em out!

Two things I really want to do having read through them all: helihiking in Franz Josef Glacier and explore Lake Tekapo.

Searching through New Zealand road trip itineraries is time consuming. Here's 23 road trips collated & organised to help you plan your self drive itinerary.

Check out what I spent living in Penang for one month.

p.s. It'sd not a whole lot!
Penang has so many epic dishes available you don't need to spend more than $5 for an epic meal. Transport is super cheap, housing is variable and there are plenty of free activities all which lead me to spending less than 500USD in a month.

Normally when people write these 'things to do' posts, everything on the list is a 'must do'. Not so here, a couple activities you could do but you can easily give them a miss to and not miss out on anything.

If it wasn't for the sour farmwork experience in Bundaberg, I'm sure my opinion would be much higher of Bundaberg. It wasn't all bad though, with a bit of effort there is plenty to see and do.

Penang is one of those cities that attracts tourists for it's food and street art. Yet digital nomads haven't descended on the town in large numbers. I really don't know why, it has everything a digital nomads wants!

Caves are epic, this one is relatively unknown but needs more love.
Malaysia doesn't scream out as an adventure destination to tourists heading to Southeast Asia but it's sneaky good! You don't even have to go to Borneo, as Gua Tempurung shows.

Simple but effective. Vegan breakfasts aren't easy in Malaysia so the staff were happy to stray away from the set menu for me. They brought out the wrong tea, but realised there mistake. Would be nice to have a pot of tea rather than just a cup as it's a nice place to chill.

Guide was a very fast talker and didn't really learn anything. Would have preferred a self guided audio tour.

Very impressive to look at! Checkout the water/light show at night too...from 9pm-ish where lots of families hang out. The process of getting a ticket is a bit confusing, just make sure to grab a ticket number before taking a seat.

Definite Little India feel. Interesting to feel the different ebbs and flows during the day.

Yasmin seems like an awesome person but I didn't come away knowing a whole lot about her (example, I have no idea how she passed away or her age...her childhood story etc) They'll continue to improve the museum though, so will return on a couple years.

Great Lake, 2.8km circumference. A few monkeys, they didn't bother me though which was good. You can walk up from Air Itsm, but ideally take a scooter.
