I just added the VILLAINS OF STEEL miniportfolio to my Gumroad store, where everything is pay-what-you-want.

Put together for the 75th Anniversary of Superman back in 2013, this booklet contains 75 original illustrations by me, featuring an assortment of Superman villains from comics, TV, film, radio and more! Each entry comes with a brief description of the villain in question, including their first appearance, so you can track down these slippery scoundrels!

Packet contains the booklet in both PDF and CBR format.

I'll be appearing at Page 2 Books in Burien WA on the morning of July 11, and then at the Barnes&Noble in Seattle in the afternoon for their Get Pop Cultured event. I'll doodle you a Regrettable Superhero if you buy a book, woo!

The Gallery of Regrettable Superheroes show and book release party is tonight! If you’re in Seattle near Greenwood-Phinney, please stop by UrbanLight Studios between 6 and 10 - copies of the book will be on sale, I’ll have some posters to give out, and I’ll be signing copies of the book (and drawing your favorite regrettable superhero inside, if you’d like!)

There's a new blog entry in advance of my very-soon-to-be-released book The League of Regrettable Superheroes, this time focusing on Fairy Tale rejects who've taken up a war on crime ...
Somebody--I think it was Aquaman--once noted that criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot. Which is why so many superheroes prey upon crooks' apparent fear of the mysterious and supernatural. And let's face it, when shopping for frightening guises, a hero could do worse than flip through ...

With less than 2 weeks remaining until the release of my book, The League of Regrettable Superheroes, I'm writing some introductory entries over at the Quirk Books blog! Starting off, a handful of irresponsible scientists and their contribution to the world of crimefighting!
SCIENCE! Where would superheroes be without it? If not for the admittedly shaky principles of comic book super-physics and four-color chemistry, we'd live in a world without Iron Man or The Flash, sans the Atom or Ant-Man; even the Hulk and Captain America would be absent from our cultural ...

Cactus Jack, Macho Man, and the greatest wrestler of all time, Pastamania Pete! I’ll be debuting these three prints (for sale!) tomorrow night at Warlock Labs for their “Kissing the Canvas” show during the Greenwood-Phinney Art Walk in Seattle.

They’ll also be going up at my Etsy shop in a few weeks, 9x12 prints on acid-free heavyweight matte paper (310 gsm). Patrons have already received their high-res digital copies, if that’s a thing you’re into.

I'd love to get this to its goal today. Four of the Aquaman Family postcards remain (Namor and BatB Aquaman have been sent out), so there's still time to get in on it!

Hey there! The next six folks to donate at least $20 to the charity:water campaign I’m running in advance of my birthday gets one of these KINGS OF THE SEA postcards!

They’re 4″x6″ on britsol board, original illustration in marker and pen, and they’re ready to send - they got a stamp on ‘em and everything! They’ll probably get a little wrecked in the mail, but that’ll just give ‘em STYLE.

All you need to do is donate at my charity:water campaign page, leave your name, and then drop me a line at calamityjon@gmail.com to let me know your mailing address. I’ll get ‘em addressed and sent off right away!

Selections will be random and first-come first-served. You can ask for one specifically and I’ll try to accommodate, but once it’s gone, it’s gone, sorry! (If you want a specific one, please ask for: Hook Hand Aquaman, Brave and the Bold Aquaman, Classic Aquaman, Sword of Atlantis Aquaman, Aqualad or Namor)

All six are currently available! Get in on it!

In advance of my birthday next week, I’m trying to raise at least $500 to help bring water to people who desperately need it. It would be wonderful if you could help, or even just spread the word - thanks!

Got a really nice review of The League of Regrettable Superheroes over on the AV Club today, courtesy of Tim O'Neil! The comments have, naturally enough, descended into conversation about how much Nineties' superhero Adam-X The Extreme sucked, but what can y'do?
Released in its native French in four volume installments over the course of 2009 to 2014, Laura Zuccheri and Sylviane Corgiat’s The Swords Of Glass (Humanoids) has the hallmarks of a contemporary classic. Too often, European fantasy set in “times long ago” relies on lazy clichés and stereotypes as

My book, The League of Regrettable Superheroes (http://www.quirkbooks.com/book/league-regrettable-superheroes) debuts in less than a month. Can I draw all 100 characters from the book before the release date of June 2? Let’s find out, starting out with these ten characters drawn over the last two nights!

Had a very good experience with Mat and Travis in setting up my storage space. Travis even gave me a tour of the facility and walked me through the entrance and exit mechanisms, made me feel very confident with the security around the place.

I went to Overlake Redmond Urgent Care with a case of pinkeye. I was seen fairly quickly but was told by the doctor that it was NOT pinkeye and I'd better get over to the emergency room immediately. She refused to examine my eye any further and told me to go to Emergency immediately. She dropped the word "tumor" three times, and in fact told me flat-out that she believed I had a tumor, and wouldn't continue the exam. I went to the emergency room and five minutes later was diagnosed with pinkeye, given a bunch of antibiotics and some antibacterial drops, and was fine by Friday. In my opinion, this was a combination of negligence and incompetence which frankly borders on the criminal. If I were on fire right outside the front door of Overlake Urgent Care, I'd walk over to Evergreen.
