Had to start a new account on Google. So my google mail is JonsToronto@gmail.com.
How is everyone! Come by and let's catch up if you're near downtown: I'm on Dundas St E & George St. Yea I know - I live above a topless lounge. Perfect for a gay guy right!

Not much motivation as I sit here in Duluth, Minnesota today.  My parents live here and I come back quite often to see my family when I'm not in downtown Toronto.  It's been a rough winter for both Toronto and Duluth, and I am interested to see how that's a...

I almost don't want to review Anytime because I don't want it to end up as crowded as all the other places I've been. My reasons for joining Anytime are very simple...mainly I want a club that I can go to without worrying about it closing, or closing because of inclement weather or holidays, etc. Some people like to workout on certain holidays when there's nothing to do later in the day (me!). If you've visited Anytime Fitness prior to last year (when they were located on 12th Ave E & Superior St) you'll be amazed by the remodel of the former Stewart's (the current Anytime) at 15th Ave E & Superior. There's even a Jacobs Ladder (google it) and plenty of room for everyone. It looks like a real, complete fitness center that's here to stay. The older location was a little rusty. And you can use your key at all Anytime Fitness locations, which is great.

Walking across the Rainbow Bridge gives you a rare opportunity to experience two countries as well as taking photos of Niagara Falls from the bridge. This can be a really exciting experience if you are prepared. Understand that both US Border Patrol and Canada Customs are much, much more thorough and require paperwork, passports, IDs, don't be surprised if they go through your cell phone or iPad or question you about things that have nothing to do with walking across the bridge. These are changes that were not in place two years ago. If you are prepared and answer all questions honestly you will be fine. If you are walking across from Canada to the USA you'll need two quarters to deposit to go through the turnstile. Remember, all your crossings will be on the screen when customs scans your passports, so if you plan to walk across, just do it once. If you do it more than that, you'll be flagged as suspicious and you definitely don't want that. Otherwise, focus on fun, taking pictures and the history of this great place.

It was okay travelling from Toronto to Chicago; however I have used public transit so many times that I do certain things (because of past experience) so I am not disappointed, shocked, or disgusted. Hand sanitizer. Bring it with you. Medications? Bring them with you in your backpack so it doesn't end up lost. Fully charge your cell phone or tablet and power it off - only power on when your'e on the bus and moving. Don't let people sitting in the bus station see your iphones, ipads or anything they can quickly grab and run away with. If you can...order your tickets online so you don't have to deal with lines or the inept customer service. Pack some on-the-go food (protein bars, granola bars, bananas, etc) so you don't need the cafeteria or pay two bucks for a diet coke. All the complaints I have read about the depot (and believe me - I've gone through it too!) can mostly be avoided if you can plan in advance how much you need to bring with you, and that way, when you arrive, you've got your own makeshift cafeteria, entertainment, and sanitizer. Also if it's hot out, I like to bring an extra t-shirt in my backpack so I can feel clean and change into a different shirt than the one I wore on the bus!
