In an older version of Hangouts (Android) when making a call I seem to remember you could choose between using data or your carrier network. Does that choice still exist?

That option is gone. :(

Another option is to touch the person's avatar in the chat, then call from that screen that pops up.

Search Engine Optimization Tips  -

I inherited a site for a company that does business in the U.S. and Canada. Yet, as much as 50% of the traffic is coming from China and Ukraine. Should I block this traffic and if so, how?

Jonathan,

Is the traffic coming from China hurting your business? Has this traffic also came from China in the first place before you inherited the site?

Remember that traffic dose have small impact on page ranking, I'd recommend you use a Web-Stat Live Traffic

It will help you understand if the traffic is spam or hurting your site.

Warm regards

Google Docs gets more useful every day.

Headers and Footers - the way you want them
One of your biggest requests (especially those of you who use Docs to write academic papers) is to be able to customize how headers and footers appear on the first pages of your documents.

With today’s updates, you can now use different headers and footers on the first pages of your documents, which comes in handy for:
> Following academic formatting guidelines (e.g. MLA, CMS, APA)
> Starting page numbering on the second page
> Making a title page without headers or footers

After inserting a header or footer in your document you’ll see a new checkbox--just tick it and you’ll be able to set a different header and footer on the first page.

There’s also a new Insert > Page Number menu that lets you customize how and where you start your page numbers--like on the bottom of the second page, for example.

I created this survey on a client site using the Calculated Fields Form #WordPress  #plugin.

Client Profile: The Law Offices of Gary H. Smith can help you receive a lower assessment on your home or business property, thus potentially lowering your real estate taxes. We recently created and published an 11-question assessment tool to help you evaluate your risk of paying more than your fair share of taxes. Take the survey at http://www.garyhsmith.com/cook-county-property-tax-risk-assessment/ and let us know if you found it helpful.

Would it be possible for the developers of Chrome apps to clearly explain any and all pricing models that apply? Many of the apps are free, but only up to a certain level that is very difficult to find explained anywhere. +Google Chrome +Chromebook +Chrome

Nice riffs, nice lyric. I just want to let it be known that I knew you way back when you weren't famous yet.

This is odd. Suddenly the #hangouts icon and interface are off-center. As shown in the screenshot, the right edge of the interface, including the scrollbar, aren't visible. When the app is dormant, only a portion of the Hangouts icon is seen. I've tried rebooting, resetting the system preferences, uninstalling and installing. It always ends up in the same off-center situation. Is this happening to anybody else?

My system:
Acer C720
Version 41.0.2272.102 (64-bit)
Platform 6680.78.0 (Official Build) stable-channel peppy
Firmware Google_Peppy.4389.89.0

Only 3 comments on this?  I've had this issue ever since I got my Tosh2 late last year.  I've assumed it has to do with development around scaling for the more more higher pixel density of these HD screens.  But its getting old and it cant be that hard to fix, can it?

Excellent example of a simple, straightforward WordPress site for a business.

Client Profile: Today's featured client is Norwin Merens of NM Marketing Communications, LLC. The project is a website for Cal-Miser Aluminum Systems, Inc. in Davenport, Iowa. Two Hangouts questions. 1. Is there an option to show my favorite contacts? 2. I feel like I used to be able to see which contacts are online. Is that feature missing from Hangouts?

(I'm using a Note 4 with GV and the Hangouts Dialer installed.)

+Paul Messier thanks for confirming that I haven't missed a setting somewhere. I sometimes use an Android app called IM+ which has a presence indicator. It just would be nice if Google could put all of the functionality in a single app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.shapeservices.impluslite&hl=en

Please explain what the Dropbox connection is for and how it works. My goal is to get iStart to sync across several devices, namely Android; Chrome OS (Chromebook); and Win7.

iStart

Hi, i have some trouble with the dropBox function  on the iStart app.
And yes you can share the "items, links" and so on with different chrome devices on different windows, mac, linux,Chrome Os machines. But you cant share your settings with the chrome on the Android device because there are no chrome extensions for chrome on android avaiable but maybe we create an application on android ;)

So you can use the new "iStart droipBox edition":

A new species of fruit has been invented: a pear-shaped orange. I was hoping it would taste like a banana, but it didn't.

Great ice cream in a great location (inside the Wrigley Building on Michigan Ave.). A "scoop" is a generous amount of ice cream. Good service. Very noisy, though, due to tile floor and hard surfaces throughout.
