Punctuality is an area that needs some work - I gave them my car to do a rebuild on 9/19, and as of 10/05 I still haven't gotten it back. Plus, I was told it would be done the following Monday/Tuesday, but that was pushed to the end of the week, and then I was told it would be done by this (10/05) late afternoon (which, by the way, was pushed back again.) While I think that they will do a good job with the transmission, this hold up is bordering on ridiculous. The owner constantly promises that "the car will be done by x date" but he has not been true to his word four, going on five, times now. Plus, the other reviews that say "he sounds like he is doing you a favor by working on it" are all true. If you do take your car here, you would be better off consulting a ouija board then asking them when it would be done.

Subs aren't $5 here, so I was unable to redeem my points. I had enough points so not only was it a question of not enough points -- which would not be the case, but also staff inability. Plus, the sub didn't taste right.

We had brought some leather jackets over to them for cleaning. They said that they will be done in two weeks. That was a month ago. We're still waiting on the jackets. Terrible service.

Just got back from staying there for a week. Great place; some things to point out: > We stayed in the Michocan building. The closest building to the lobby / restaurants, but still quite a walk. > Our room was super clean. If you had to eat off of the floor for some strange reason, you'd be fine. > The beds are not hard as rock. I slept like a baby on them. You people must sleep on jello or something. > The restaurants are amazing! I got to practice my Spanish with some of the waiters; perfect for the upcoming school year. Some of the waiters at the sit-down restaurants will get you to fill out a feedback form and ask you to mention them -- they go above and beyond and provide great service, so why not? > Extra kudos to the Watersports Center -- my father wanted to take sailing lessons but when he went to book they were full, but the staff seemed overly-eager to try and accommodate him. Ultimately, due to a trip to Xel-Ha he was not able to sail, but I applaud their enthusiasm. Sailing lessons did not cost extra and they did not have to go out of their way to do this but they did anyway. Now for the negative: > Depending on when / where you get on, the shuttle may be a waste of time. We got on at the second to last stop and the driver decided to go in a circle twice before going through almost the whole resort. I say almost because the furthest he went was the Palmeras Grill and we had to walk all the way back to the palace. > The dolphin area is a pretty small area for dolphins to swim and live. Plus a couple looked beat up; I dunno if they were rescued or if they place they are kept has anything to do with that. > Depending on when you call the lobby, your call may be picked up, placed on hold, picked up by someone else, and placed on hold again in a big cycle. Other than those hiccups, my stay was amazing and I hope that my next visit to Cancun will be at Barcelo again. If you go, enjoy yourself, bring a snorkel, and remember to tip your staff!
