Hey Tim,

I love Periscope so much I created a whole new channel just for my Periscope show called The Johno Show, which I produce twice daily at 6AM & 6PM Eastern. Here's the link if you want to check it out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnzr5hwlRPDk0a9Je5J0R8Q

It's so new I haven't even had time to do thumbnails or get a custom URL.

To your point, yeah, Meerkat might have made some great improvements recently but Periscope being owned by Twitter means they can jump on those enhancements super quick. I also think it's important to note that Periscope usage is way larger than Meerkat.

The biggest issue is the non-horizontal camera!! This is so aggravating!!

Anyway, once the show is completed on Periscope I upload it to YouTube, Instagram, and Vine. I'm having a hard time getting my Periscope followers to join my YouTube channel but hopefully that will change with time.

Thanks for this great video. I hope you'll continue to use both and update us as they make changes.

-Jonathan

+Video Creators Yeah the only problem is the video doesn't contain the comment stream. So I've taken to reading the comments out loud for people who don't understand I'm talking to an audience.

Is this being rolled out slowly? I don't see it in my dashboard. Is it in the App Directory?

Really great video and you launched it so quickly. I noticed that these cards were actually in the spot of the branding watermark, which has now moved to the lower right hand corner. Important fact.

+Danny Dover Was that what it was...you should be jet lagged more often when you do these. The ending had me nearly on the floor. At least you didn't curse but you were obviously very close.

I'm super excited for next weeks new format. These short news announcements are just to much data in such a short amount of time.

I agree...somewhat...I don't agree with the pool idea. Instead I think each channel should be able to offer a premium service that includes no ads and more content. I'm thinking each subscriber could gain premium level service for maybe $0.99 a month. That number would be shared between YouTube and the Channel. The advantage is that the engagement rate would be significantly high with those people that were premium. For instance take PewDiePie - he has 35 Million subscribers. I would expect 5% of those people to be active enough to want to take advantage of the premium level. So let's say 1.8 Million people become premium users. Even with a 60/40 split with YouTube he would still make nearly a million a month. According to the Wall Street Journal he's currently pulling in $4M a year. So even this example would work to his advantage. It certainly would work much better for unique niche audiences that would see that 5% conversion go up. Great Video!

+Jonathan Goodman That option already exists on YouTube, like the example of the golf channel I showed in this video. The problem is people don't pay for access to individual channels. It's too complicated and the perceived value isn't high enough. However, if you could pay to have those perks across all of YouTube, maybe that'll work.

Excellent video! I've heard about the standing desk but never knew anyone who actually used it. That linked video is very convincing too. I have an Ikea modular desk that would be super easy to convert into a standing desk. I'm going to give this some serious thought. Thanks!

+Video Creators I've added it to the list of things to do around the house but I've put it fairly near the top. So it might take a week or two but I'll get you that photo - promise. P.S. keep up the great work on the videos.

This is the presentation I was supposed to give at SMX East 2014 but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I had to back out at the last minute. The presentation focuses on the History of Facebook Open Graph and Twitter Cards.

I love this place. I can't get enough of it. A friend of mine introduced me to this place and now I bring everyone here. Friday and Saturday night are the most fun as they have a guy who plays piano and sings old songs like Sinatra. The food is awesome. The Buffalo Calamari is so much fun and when that isn't on the specials list you have to try the spicy calamari. I think it's called the Sicilian Calamari but I'm not 100% sure. If you're in the mood for pizza ask the waitress and she'll get you the pizza specials menu which includes appetizer and pitch of soda/beer. Hopefully they haven't discontinued that cause it was awesome. This is old style Bayonne Italian. So if you're a snotty newbie bridge and tunnel person this place isn't for you.
