I like small joint manipulation, it's a more refined way in my opinion to maybe more ethically deal with an opponent should you feel the need to do so. I also like the way this video overlays a zoomed in focus shot of the manipulation on top of the main video so you can see better how it's being done.

Waza Wednesday 2/17/16 - Small Joint Manipulation
We practice a series of escapes, locks and takedowns in Yuishinkai (http://goo.gl/K8BCws), the Karate system founded by Gansho (Motokatsu) Inoue as one his teachers was Gozo Shioda. I agree with much said here, especially if you can grab the fingers. However one thing I didn't like was turning one's back during the lock unless you going straight into a throw from that.

Good drill for clearing the lead arm (free hand/knife strikes)

Practical Kata Bunkai: Shuto-uke (“knife hand”) as transition
I've seen older video of Ian doing these shuto-uke (knife hand blocks) drills. Technically he is doing shuto-uchi (knife hand strikes) here. However if you think about it, any block could be a strike too. In our Yuishinkai system, the shuto-uke is more circular in nature and that leads into a grab hence conforming to the designation of the technique.

Very interesting application of grappling strikes. I like how they show the movement alone then in application.

Okinawan Karate: The Art of Grappling with Strikes
They have some interesting bunkai interpretations of various Shuri-te and Tomari-te kata. Actually I like their spin on this.

Introduction
I love all things technology. I am a programmer, specifically .NET. My web skills comprise mostly using a MVC back end with html5, css 3 front end and using ajax for data calls.

Major interest in DIY projects which sends me to self delusions of being able to make the things I see on sites like instructables.com, make.com and the like.

Proud father of 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys, it's exhausting but rewarding.

Expensive, pork ribs are very salty and potato salad was bland. Very little food for the money

Location is a bit hard to get to, the road construction was mostly to blame for that. The hotel itself is dated but the room and beds were nice and comfortable.

I agree with JS Survivalist. It's a consistently poor experience. Service is slow and they always out of steak. The food is good but usually the experience ruins it
