Regarding errorhandling in FMX applications.

I use Kinvey for dealing with push notifications in some apps and it works great but if a user for some reason have bad internet or flightmode turned on I get an error while trying to signup to Kinvey. This is obviously correct since there is no internet connection but I would like to fetch that and show a better message to end user.

The code is within try-except but I never reach my except. Is this common in connection-based code? I see that I get a simular exception when REST fails on bad internet connection.

Are there any way to fetch those errors by my self and present a different message? Thanks in advance

Could anyone give me a heads-up of how to start working with background processes (UIBackgroundModes) and performFetchWithCompletionHandler in Delphi? I have an app; I'm trying to get the app to make an external REST-call on an event that are triggered even in suspended mode. I can make stuff happen in event f.e. send local notification but the app are not allowing external data fetch.

I have set UIBackgroundModes to "fetch" but are pretty clueless about how to proceed. Have seen very few examples of working code for solving this. There are some examples in XCode (with performFetchWithCompletionHandler) but not for Delphi.

Trying to get Delphi Seattle (10) to work with my new Galaxy Tab A but it's hopeless. Added newest SDK (2.4.1), checked USB debugging in developer menu and all needed drivers, sdk etc are downloaded through Android Tools.

The tab connects to windows computer and are visible with latest driver. No matter what... it just want show up in Android targets in Delphi. I have no trouble getting the Samsung phone to work though.

Running Android 5.0.2 on TAB and 5.1.1 on phone

I solved it. The "adb devices" call showed unauthorized. Somehow I never got the question in the tablet. After I did adb kill-server, adb start-server then un-checked USB debugging and re-checked USB debugging, it worked... thanks

5 Things your friends should know before joining Google+

1) Let’s start with the obvious one. G+ is not Facebook… or Twitter...or Pinterest. Or a combination of them all. Or an attempt to kill them.
Even though they are all in the same business of capturing your attention, your time and your information, they provide different services.
FB mainly connecting family and friends.
Twitter with instant news
Pinterest lets you express your interests through pictures
Google+ allows you to connect to the world and find people that like the same things you like, so you can talk about them and exchange ideas.
All these social media platforms try to provide features for businesses to easily engage with customers.

2) When people add you to their circles is a good thing.
You want people to add you. That means they are going to read what you post. What about privacy? You control what you share and who you share with. If you post public, that means the world can potentially see it. If you post to a group or individuals of your choosing, then only those people will see it. By adding you, people don’t get access to more information. It’s just easier to see your posts because they will appear in their home page (not to be confused with profile), the main stream of posts.
In Google+ you will meet strangers. No doubt about it. Guaranteed. If you are not ready to step outside of the protective cocoon of family and friends then you will need to reconsider joining in. Strangers come in all flavours, from pleasing to disgusting. You can report and block the later ones. But if your idea of interacting with others is to only talk to people you know, then you are in the wrong place. Come visit us, when you are ready to expand your horizons and experience a new world.

3) Circles main goal is not to target audiences.
You can use them, but they are inefficient and hard to manage for this purpose. Communities are much better to focus your conversations on a particular interest. Collections allow your followers to read your posts about a topic, rather than following you as an individual with multiple interests. Collections do not require you to figure out in which circle you should put your followers or which posts should you share with them, based on their interests.
Circles allow you to organize your reading. Each circle has its own stream (even though you can choose to read all of them in the main stream). All posts are visible in the circle streams. You can choose to receive notifications and the amount of posts (none, fewer, standard, more) that you want to see in the main stream. Add only people you are interested in, not because they added you. At the beginning be generous with adding, so you can have a bigger pool to choose from. Then remove the ones you don’t like enough to keep.
Circles will have a big impact in your Google+ experience, as you will get new recommendations and posts based on the content shared by your circles.

4) When you let Google backup your photos, they are not instantly shared.
You see them. The rest of the world don’t...until you share them. If you decide to share one photo, make sure you don’t share the whole album that contains the photo. Creating an album with the photos you want to share is a good idea to avoid surprises. Photos are no longer exclusive to the Google+ product. They are now called Google Photos and you can share them anywhere.

5) General advice.
Don’t play with your name. You can only change it 3 times in a 90-day period.
Add a photo to your profile so people can recognize you next time they find your post.
Posts in public communities are visible to members and non-members. They are public posts. And they are visible in your profile, unless you choose not to show them there.
Make sure people can comment on your public posts by checking your settings at plus.google.com/settings That’s the idea, isn’t it?
Visit myaccount.google.com often to keep your account safe.
Have fun and keep those posts safely rolling.

I'm using Delphi Berlin for development, especially apps for Android and IOS.
I also have a couple of apps written explicit in Android Studio and Xcode but would like to use some of the code from my Delphi projects.

Are there some tutorial or likewise to help out or is it not possible to import/use Delphi compiled code in Android Studio and/or Xcode?

Thanks in advance

Sorry for not mentioning these possibilities but IMHO there too many limits and things that can go wrong that I avoid to even think of. If I need some logic I wrote in Delphi it is much faster to rewrite it in a native IDE..

A question regarding using MapView in Delphi for iOS.
Anyone here with knowledge of how to either add other objects like image etc to mapPoint.Snippet or how I can show visual content if user clicks the mapPoint in mapview?

It seems impossible to place something on a mapview component (like the webbrowser) or am I doing something wrong here?

Stör ju knappast i menyn...
