In many ways, SMART on #FHIR is more exciting than what FHIR could do for data exchange. Seamless interaction between apps can be a difference-maker for healthcare providers and patients. A great overview of SMART on FHIR by +Blog Brevity for +HL7 Standards.

#healthIT #HITsm
FHIR is really important to facilitate an app platform such as SMART and to make it more easily adaptable to the various EHRs.

Father’s Day is a time to pause and connect with our dads. Be present. Some thoughts about creating connections points and how they matter when working through Alzheimer's with a parent or friend.

*What role does impatience play in strategy?" Thoughts on +Switch and Shift:

"Patience is not the end-all in strategic plans. There is nothing worse than a slow death.

Impatience is not a good reason to kill a strategic plan. Quick deaths may be too early.

The strategic warning is simple: Don’t replace impatience with too much patience. This is not about balance. It is about being smart."

During graduation ceremonies, many words are spoken but few resonate years later. Yes, we need to reach for the stars but we need to do the practical work too. What past commencement speeches do you remember?

#graduation
The stark reality is graduation is just a phase, like a trimester. Graduating means another development phase has passed.

Has purpose-driven lost its way? It seem we have sucked all we can out of it, as it has become more words than action. Time to activate purpose through clarity, freedom, and ability.

Purpose-activated replaces purpose-driven. Purpose-activated embraces freedom, ability, and clarity. Leadership refreshed.

A very (very) insightful post here on +HL7 Standards by Angela Dunn. Key physicians participate in offering their insights on new technologies, how it impacts their practices, and engagement with patients. A key read!

Purpose threads. The visual works for me, especially in thinking through life and work and how purpose gets entangled or weaves. How does your purpose thread its way through your life and work?

Purpose threads. I like the visualization of purpose as a thread. Weaving through life and work, purpose threads.

Businesses are doing some odd things as it relates to #Millennials . One company is separating them into their own "corner" of the office and another is launching a special store chain just for them. Maybe it is time to take a more integrated approach... what do you think?

Excited to share some insights on +Elite Daily (my first post for them)!

Modern Media delivered. In exploring options, I contacted several firms to get a quote and insights on implementing a sound system in our family room. What I found with Todd from Modern Media is complete transparency in his recommendations and pricing. The installation team did an excellent job in getting everything set up. From clean-up to training, everything was done in a professional and thorough manner. After installation, everything was done as promised and within the estimate. Todd and Modern Media delivered a great system in a trustworthy and complete way. This was the first sound system I ever had installed, and I am glad Modern Media delivered a great experience.
