I'm telling you... As much as we mess with nature, it's only a matter of time before nature seriously messes with us back.

What do China and Cuba have in common? They are the only non-African nations to send a substantial amount of emergency medical personnel to help with the Ebola crisis. Come on, rest of the world!
The epidemic has exposed gaping holes in the ability to tackle outbreaks in an increasingly interconnected world, where diseases can quickly spread from remote villages to cities housing millions of people.

More than 170 countries — about 90% — still have laws and policies on the books that end up denying women and girls the same rights and protections enjoyed by their male counterparts. - UCLA’s World Policy Analysis Center

Brett Richards is the first psychotherapist that I have ever been to. And, as far as therapists go, I can honestly say I feel quite lucky that I found a great one, because Brett has been truly fantastic! I began psychotherapy with Brett because my fiancée wanted us to do couples therapy before we got married. In the beginning, I wasn't sure if a psychotherapist could even help us, and I definitely wasn't sure what to expect. However, now that I've worked with Brett, I'm very happy I agreed to go, because Brett helped my fiancé and I make some important improvements that have advanced our relationship to a deeper and better level. Brett helped us in a lot of ways. He helped us open our eyes to insights and perspectives about what goes into a happy and successful relationship that we hadn't ever thought about before, but which have been making a big difference in improving our relationship. He has helped us to understand each other better, to appreciate each other more deeply, and to grow closer as a couple, and he has helped us gain better self-understanding and self-awareness as individuals. And Brett has also helped us to identify and resolve many of our problems and issues that were getting in our way. Brett has also been a tremendous help to my fiancé and I by assisting us in vastly improving our communication. He has taught us a ton of great tools, skills, and strategies that we have been using to improve the way we talk about everything (including tough subjects). We are now communicating in a more effective, more accurate, and healthier way, which has been extremely satisfying for us both. I have also been very impressed by how exceptionally well Brett listens and remembers. Even though we see him for only one hour each week, we have been in therapy with Brett for a while and have had a number of sessions over time. And yet, he recalls with ease all of the details, names, and essentially everything from our prior sessions. And then, when he thinks it's beneficial to do so, he brings to our awareness key points from previous sessions in such a way that enhances the therapy work we are doing in current sessions. This has absolutely helped us gain deeper and clearer understandings, resolve issues, and advance our therapy progress. In every one of our therapy sessions, Brett has always been very active, focused, and engaged, and it has always been very clear to my fiancé and I that he is genuinely dedicated to helping us make as much therapy progress as we possibly can (which is so important!). One of the things that touched me most about psychotherapy with Brett, and which has been meaningful for me (my fiancé feels the same way), is that in addition to how professional, intelligent, knowledgeable, and skilled Brett is, he is definitely one of the nicest, kindest, most genuinely caring people I've met in quite a while. If you're searching for an outstanding psychotherapist, then I highly, highly recommend Brett. I just can't imagine how anyone could be better. He has made a very positive significant difference in our relationship, and my fiancé and I would not be where we are today without his help. Thank you, Brett, for everything!
