Strategies & Tips  -

Yesterday I got an email from AdSense suggesting that I unblock categories to increase my earnings. Previously I had gone through and blocked under performing categories. For example, if an ad category had 5% of clicks, but only 1% of revenue, I blocked it. The idea being that blocking the low performers would free up more room for the higher performing categories.

What has been your experience? Do you earn more by blocking low performers or by leaving everything unblocked?

+张鹏 a lot of ways that you can try, one example, you can choose classic ad unit to placed on your site.

classic ad unit having good performance to increase your cpc than customized ad unit that often get  clicks by accident by the users

Streaming Netflix on Kubuntu 12.04, Chrome stable. Updated NSS packages have hit the repo's. Should work on 14.04 and derivatives now too. Just need a user agent tweak to get it working now. You'll need the user agent switcher for Chrome:  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/user-agent-switcher-for-c/djflhoibgkdhkhhcedjiklpkjnoahfmg?utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-et-na-us-oc-webstrhm&utm_medium=et

New User-agent name: Netflix
New User-Agent String: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2114.2 Safari/537.36
Group: Chrome
Append?: Replace
Indicator flag: NFX

Netflix is expected to be changing their user agent filter within the next few days so you won't need the user agent switcher.

The previous technique no longer works because the Mint team is providing their own version of Synaptic rather than using the package from the Ubuntu repositories. The following will show how to restore the Mark All Upgrades button to Synaptic in Linux Mint 17.
Enable Mark All Upgrades in Synaptic on Linux Mint 17. Linux Mint disables the Mark All Upgrades button in Synaptic by default. Here's how to get it back.

Anyone else having trouble connecting to http://linuxmint.com? It's hit or miss from my phone's data connection and I can't get to it from my home cable connection. The breakdown appears to be happening at 213-229-117-86.static.as29550.net.
Linux Mint is an elegant, easy to use, up to date and comfortable GNU/Linux desktop distribution.

+Vinnie V oh, I just saw your sticks :) those are like chopsticks :) I can't play with them that skinny, they hurt my hands after I broke my wrist (23k in surgery; bolted and plated now). Plus, I can't get the Bonham kit to sound right using small sticks. Though I've seen heavy hitters who manage fine...light, thick sticks can go either way to my thinking...

Thanks for the fix. I'm using Genbu as well and couldn't figure out how to fix this error in my feed.

Just got confirmation from David Chandra, the lead developer, that this will be fixed in the next update cycle.

This is a tutorial/example code for creating command line options for your bash scripts using getopts.

I've always wanted to know how to create command line options for my Bash scripts. After some research I found there are two functions available to handle this; getopt and getopts.  Here's my example code to show how to use getopts to enable command line switches with bash.
