I am extremely interested in the demographic breakdown of Enlightened/Resistance players. Has any official information been released on this, and if not, is there anyone at +Ingress willing to release a high level analysis?

Speculation without data is a peculiar kind of masterbation. The study done by DeCode is worthless because it contains no statistical rigor.

This reminds me of the story of Lallafa in The Hitchhiker's Guide mythos. Lallafa wrote the most beautiful poetry in the galaxy on leaves, but when a corporation goes back in time, gives him correcting fluid, and then he produces the same poetry but only this time by having the poems fed to him and obviously corrected with the correcting fluid, artists consider it worthless.

In the same way, is the Sharknado-brand of films worthless because they are deliberately creating low budget monstrosities? Why should the value lie with intention rather than output?

I don't think the value lies with intention. I think it lies with the story behind the output. When you read about Sharknado, you learn about the story of a professional b-movie studio. When you read about The Room, you learn about a perfect storm of broken hopes.

One of the great struggles of archaeology and sociology is finding the importance of what isn't archived and who isn't archiving it. Did people do, think, or feel something, but felt compelled for whatever reason to not record it in a fashion carried forward? If the People Of The Future have a an archive of every joke made about SnapChat, they are probably going to assume that people only took pictures of their various jibbly bits and sent them to a mostly unappreciative audience. Does this mean we should make their job easier by recording every Snap sent so they can understand the far more mundane reality?

Why are people down on Lenovo? Would you rather Motorola be in the hands of HP? Or Dell?

+Shawn Wallace I don't think Motorola doesn't attrac people. Motorola can't reach all the markets in the world that's why lenovo comes in, but Google only want the patents to protect Android from Apple and Windows, with this move from Google the only thing is Google protects Android even from Samsung that has developing their own OS.

In general it's really easy to get information. It is also easy to create a plan of action based on that information. I would go so far as to say that it's easy to follow through on information gathered. What is difficult is to define a problem, gather the correct information, interpret the information correctly, and create a plan to change the important variables.

Generating knowledge for the sake of knowing is great. But if one is seeking to Quantify Self in order to achieve a goal, then one must choose how the data will fit into that goal. Otherwise your just fiddling with numbers. Which is also fun.

So two bits:

First, the game structure itself is an authority. If players aren't attempting to beat the game, the only other thing that they could be thought to be doing is playing another game. Which is to say, by default Twitch is attempting to Pokémon because the game is itself saying that is what should be done. If the name of the game was Twitch Jumps Off Cliffs in Pokémon that would probably be more common. The very slight authority gives people a place to rally - why are we here? We are here to Pokémon.

Second, my name is pronounced Bowl-linger. You're 0 for 2 on getting it ;-)

As far as the casting of Eisenberg goes - I think it will be fine. What I really want though is a Lex who doesn't care about money, only about killing The Alien.
