Sorry... meant to say Ventura Mk. II, not Hudson Mk. II.

My Battle of Britain movie "actors" are ready for the paint shop.

On the left is Hobbycraft's Ha-1112 Buchon, which will represent a Bf-109E. I'm not sure if I'll do the yellow or red nosed version.

On the right is the Hasegawa Spitfire Mk. IX, which will be in the markings for AI-A, and representing a Spitfire Mk. I.

Both are 1/48 scale.

I'm having fun with this. It's a project I've always wanted to do. Eventually I plan to do a Hurricane in movie markings, as well as another Buchon in RAF markings, to replicate the aircraft repainted that way to film the "repeat please" scene with the Polish pilots.

This is Tamiya's 1/48 Spitfire MK. Vb. One of the finest kits you can build, in my opinion. Proof positive that you can actually mold a wing with the gun openings in the wing, and then add the tape coverings later, and even make it look like it's been fired. Instead of molding them in. ;)

Introduction
I'm Jon Bius, currently working as a website designer at Biz Tools One in Fayetteville, NC. I'm married to my fabulous wife Christy, who deserves better than a husband like me. My son Robert is in law school, and my daughter Melissa is a senior in college, majoring in religion and French.

I was in the Florida National Guard from 1989 to 1991, as an infantryman, in A Co. 3/124 Inf. I then went active duty as a PSYOP Specialist in 1991. I completed Airborne School in 1992. I am a veteran of Somalia, and have spent time in Germany, Panama and Bolivia.

I am a member of VIllage Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. My hobby is building scale model airplanes and playing guitar.
Bragging rights
I managed to survive a parachute malfunction on my 14th jump, which was from a forestry service DC-3. The tail wheel tore a giant hole in my chute, so I had to pull my reserve.

I've been shopping at Hayes for several years now, and I love it. It's like the model shops of my youth... model airplanes hanging from the ceiling, stacks of model kits, paints and books. They have tons of photoetch, resin, decals and other modeling supplies. If they don't stock it, they'll order it for you and get it quick. If you need help on modeling, Mike is the "Yoda" of modeling. Only he has more hair and ain't quite as green.... ;) Seriously, Mike can help anyone from the first-time modeler to the most experienced modeler. If you haven't visited Hayes Hobby House- you need to!
