Introduction
I am Tony passionate about photography, reading, writing, eating good food, travelling, meeting people, staying healthy, and cooking. I am most passionate about Johor food. I am fascinated by Johor’s unique culinary heritage created by its melting pot of diverse cultures. I feel that Johor food deserves at least the same acclaim as food from KL, Ipoh, Malacca and Penang, which it has not yet been given. I created johorkaki.blogspot.com on 20 Dec 2011. I hope that through my blog about my delightful experiences with Johor food and the people behind it, visitors from around the world will appreciate the potpourri of Johor culinary art. I further hope johorkaki will, in a small way, contribute to Johor food and the dedicated eatery owners and workers receiving their due recognition. I pay in full for all my meals and do not receive any form of payment or favours from the eateries mentioned in this blog. I wish you happy reading and great eating.

One of the standard bearers of good chicken rice in Singapore. All three elements of good chicken namely the chicken, rice and condiments (chili dip and grated ginger) are at the top level. The tender poached chicken is flavoursome and has that "jelly (fat) between the juicy meat and smooth skin. The aromatic rice is quality long grain, nutty and not overly greasy. The chili dip has a sharp spicy sting and the grated ginger has a savoury mildly spicy taste.
