Introduction
John Taschek is responsible for corporate strategy at salesforce.com, a role spans marketing, communications and product strategy, competitive intelligence, and outbound communications about the salesforce.com cloud services and platform. Taschek has been with salesforce.com since 2003.

Prior to joining salesforce.com, Taschek was the lab  Director for Ziff Davis Enterprise PC Week and eWEEK IT publications. He was an award winning technology columnist, a member of the editorial board, and a technology evaluator, a role that  llowed Taschek access into thousands of technology organizations. Taschek joined PC Week in 1994 after spending two years as a technical editor for the consumer-focused PC/Computing magazine. 

While at Ziff Davis, Taschek wrote or co-authored  several books, including one on Windows NT for Ziff Davis Press, and contributed to Que’s books on the Internet and World Wide Web. 

Taschek also contributed to  PriceWaterhouseCooper’s annual technology review.

Prior to Ziff Davis, Taschek worked on the office automation project for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This was under contract with Advanced Technology Systems. There he worked along with the technology group under contract with Martin Marietta (Lockheed Martin.

Taschek started his professional career at The Source in McLean, Virginia, a pioneer in online
computing.

Taschek lives in San Francisco with wife and three children. He is active in the community, though schools, the salesforce.com Foundation, and through coaching several soccer teams.
