I had a vendor reach out to me with a good sized lot of NEMA 17 motors. Specifically these two motors:

Minebea/NMBTechnologies 17PM-K077BP01CN
Minebea/NMBTechnologies 17PM-K374BN01CN

Are these any good for building 3D printers?

We have introduced a "basics" line of PLA filament. Pure, virgin PLA with diameter and ovality tolerances of +/- 0.05mm. There's just a very basic set of colors (natural, white, black, blue, yellow) but that's how we are able to keep the costs down.

These are full, 1kg spools for $26.95.

We just launched Entwined Hemp Filament! It's the first commercially available filament made from hemp. It will be able to be printed on any 3D printer capable of printing in PLA. #hemp #3dprinting

An update on the CubeJet full color 3D printer that was announced by +3D Systems at CES 2014. I had a chance to talk with the Product Manager, Tara Anderson about where it's at and when we can expect to see it released.

It was nice to see it actually running at this show, last year it was just an empty shell.

I had an opportunity to interview Jonathan Jaglom, the CEO of MakerBot®. We talked about some of the pain points MakerBot experienced in 2015 and what their plans are for 2016. We also talk about a new improvement to the Smart Extruder, the Smart Extruder+.

What do you think? Is MakerBot on the right path?

Can 3D Systems turn their ship around?

3D Systems is a company that has so much mismanaged potential. After 12 years at the helm, Avi Reichental has stepped down. One of the leading hype-masters of 3D printing, Avi oversaw the share price rise to an overvalued $96.42/share before plummeting to its current price of $8.96.

How did this happen? Through a massive series of acquisitions followed by poor integration into 3D Systems as a result of mismanagement. Jake Clark and I dive into some of the pitfalls 3D Systems has encountered, as well as offering predictions of the company's fate.
