Here's the funkiest combo of percussion and a bassoon you've ever heard! Tight!

JP -- just further proof that musical creativity is limitless!

Incidentally, a buddy and I saw James Blake last week in MKE, he won the British mercury award this year for best album. His sound is electronica music -- we enjoyed going outside our musical comfort zone ... And be the oldest people at a show!

Here's a bit of a hybrid events toolkit based on my years trying to spread the hybrid gospel. Good starting point and 9 tips for creating high value events with hybrid technologies. Vendor agnostic.

This is probably most interesting to #educators, but has implications for marketers and event professionals as well. If you are a #speaker, this could open your mind up to a whole new world of presentation techniques.

What am I talking about? My detailed notes from a book highlighting the connection between #movement and #learning retention.

Give it a look and think differently about how we learn.

Either it's too early for #BigData or Big Data needs a better storyteller.

Nice counterpoint to some of the recent discussion urging marketers to focus on increased revenue as a key metric of #marketing success. #CMO via Gartner

For the event professionals headed to WEC '13 - My prediction is that your favorite sessions, and most educational sessions, will be the ones that "move" you.
Thousands of meeting professionals from around the world are getting ready to descend on Las Vegas, NV for MPI's annual World Education Congress. If that's you, I'd like to challenge you to pay attention to one specific thing – How well your educational sessions “move” you. Let me explain.

For my local Madison area friends: I'm selling my home (by owner) and have uploaded some more pictures to my site (www.homeinveronaschooldistrict.com). Please share with anyone you know is looking. I'll give you a referral fee if you bring me someone without a realtor and they purchase.

Mini Social Media Case Study: From Noisy RTs to Thoughtful Interactions. Based on some of my recent work with a digital agency.
Many of you have read the advice not to leave your social media programs to the interns and, if that's you, you've probably also read the horror stories (here's one). In general, I think some of those horror stories could have been avoided, but it's not a lack of trust that worries me.

Work
Occupation
I’m a schooled musician masquerading as a seasoned, tech-savvy business expert.
Skills
Decades of study and experience as a jazz drummer have taught me how to truly listen. With highly sensitive and empathetic ears, I’ve been able to help meet real-world business needs with creative, user-appropriate technology solutions for almost 20 years. Unsurprisingly, listening has also helped me excel at consultative selling. Of course, to sell or market, you need to do more than just listen. My in depth study of both poetry and technical communication have been extremely useful in effectively communicating complex concepts through metaphor and connection to everyday models my audiences understand. This has also likely played a role in my award-winning marketing and advertising efforts. My constant focus on improving my own skills (whether musical, athletic, business, or life) have driven me to explore the science of learning and learning retention. This exploration has proven very useful in presenting both company products/services as well as promoting bleeding-edge industry categories. Finally, my management, mentoring, and coaching experiences have taught me the beauty of seeing goals accomplished through others. Developing and encouraging the most out of a team (even those over whom you have no authority) is perhaps one of the most rewarding aspects of this thing we call “work.” Industries: Advertising, Airline, Audio Visual, Events, Finance, Higher Education, High Technology, Music Roles: Partner Manager, Program Manager/Director, Technical Product Manager, Evangelist, Advertising Executive, Management Consultant, Copywriter Technologies: Video Content Management, Video Streaming, Multimedia Content Management, E-commerce, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software, Web Content Management, Content Management, Lecture Capture Cities: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Walldorf, Germany; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Madison, WI
