Fans of The Walking Dead are eager to experience this year's new spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, but, as writer/producer Robert Kirkman told us, audiences will not need to be familiar with the seed series in order to enjoy the new one, which takes us back

So to avoid getting hassled by the state, don’t act nervous, but don’t act too calm either. Don’t stare straight ahead unless you’re on the telephone, in which case don’t look around. And disembark right amidst all the other passengers with lots of luggage.

Wow... John Oliver has a segment on this very matter, and I thought most of it was a joke. We have lost our rights in this country

“Louisville is really strong on the size of its parks, between the Olmstead Parks and the Twentieth Century Parks System, there are some great large parks that Louisville residents have access to,” said Abby Martin of the Trust for Public Lands’ Center for Park Excellence. “They just don’t necessarily have walking access, which is another one of the metrics we measure.”
Once again, Louisville has ranked poorly on the annual ranking of city park systems from a national group.

With the beginnings of a new season now upon it, it's safe to say that 'Girl Meets World' has become something far more than a nostalgia driven cash grab... it's actually now one of the most important multi-cam sitcoms currently airing on television.

The Phoenix Hill Tavern — an entertainment institution for 40 years along Baxter Avenue near the Highlands — closed for good Monday, along with Jim Porter's Good Time Emporium on Lexington Road, according to the Phoenix Hill Tavern website. Owner Ben Rogers had recently announced that Jim Porter's would close in the near future, because it will be demolished for an MSD project.

Patch that hole!
A computer security expert hacked into a plane's inflight entertainment system and made it angle sideways by telling one of the engines to go into climb mode. He told the F.B.I. he had hacked into planes "15 to 20 times," according to court documents first made public Friday.

This sounds fishy to me.  FAA airworthiness regulations require IFE and flight control systems to be totally isolated from each other.

Oh no, someone took the Black Widow SNL sketch and turned it into a real series. CBS just released its first trailer for the Supergirl show and it is so depressingly paint-by-numbers we had to list the cliches off. But halfway in, it gets better.

Such slow service. Maybe everyone is getting tires this week, but it was packed on Saturday. They checked out my car and ordered me my tire in a reasonable amount of time. But when I returned Tuesday at my appointed time to get the tire, it was 2 to 3 times less busy, and the front guy was still telling others that they were very busy. I was told it would take 60 to 90 minutes for my tire; it took about 3 hours. This was to get 1 tire replaced. They didn't balance or rotate (despite the signage that says that's free for life), yet after they finally pulled my car into the bay, it sat there seemingly unattended for at least an hour. No updates were given to me or explanation for the delay. The only reason that I stayed was because this was a hazard warranty repair; that tire was owed to me. Right before my car was pulled in, the front guy nearly stopped a customer from leaving, saying his car would be pulled in within 10 minutes. I now know that it was wise that the customer left, though he was instructed to return on Saturday before the place opens. Also, the store is closed on Sundays. That's probably a corporate policy, but don't expect to go in on a Saturday & have tires for work on Monday.

The only exclusive karaoke bar that I know of in the city. It generally gets a big crowd on weekends, with less patrons on weekdays. Either way can be fun, depending on the night you're looking for. Expect to wait to sing if it's crowded, as most other visitors also want to sing. Staff is dedicated to the place and returns customers' respect.

Lynn's is worth checking out when you have out-of-town visitors, but not something I'd recommend for regular dining. It's decorated fun and has some fun store items, but but the food is generally pricey. This is especially true for the items that have been featured on the food network such as the 4B french toast—which is not bad, but does not taste too special and isn't quite worth its up-charge. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and hype tend to outweigh the food quality and value.

The breakfast that I've had here has been very good. Unfortunately, the place is small and gets busy on weekend mornings, so waiting for a table is typical. They also have removed some fantastic offerings, such as the Foster Your Waffles; I was told this was because they no longer had a liquor license, though that explanation seems suspect. The Lemon Pancakes and Tower of Waffles are both good and available last time I was there. Eating at the bar is a bit awkward, especially if they stick you in the corner.
