I read this article as an argument supporting personal AIs that respond to simple messages for you automatically. Google Inbox already offers basic suggestions for replies and Google's new messaging service, Allo, will do the same thing. I think the world would really benefit from a system of personal AIs that are able to act as a proxy for an individual's digital life.
Up until just a few years ago, I got around 350 emails a day, which presented me with an exhausting, time-consuming daily task that I grumbled about plenty. Now, because of social media and messaging services, that number has been cut by more than half. But things are actually worse.
