I read this article as an argument supporting personal AIs that respond to simple messages for you automatically. Google Inbox already offers basic suggestions for replies and Google's new messaging service, Allo, will do the same thing. I think the world would really benefit from a system of personal AIs that are able to act as a proxy for an individual's digital life.
Up until just a few years ago, I got around 350 emails a day, which presented me with an exhausting, time-consuming daily task that I grumbled about plenty. Now, because of social media and messaging services, that number has been cut by more than half. But things are actually worse.

Wow, this is a huge turn for Google. Very exciting!

Really excited about our big news, announcement of Alphabet!
As Sergey and I wrote in the original founders letter 11 years ago, “Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one.” As part of that, we also said that you could expect us to make “smaller bets in areas that might seem very speculative or even strange when compared to our ...

The three golden rules to ensure computer security are:
do not own a computer;
do not power it on;
and do not use it.

I don't know whether to be impressed or terrified... or both.

Oh my.

And yes, this is very much not legal. But it doesn't make any less awesome scary.

Google has every voice search I've ever done readily available for playback.

I don't remember Google telling me they were keeping the actual audio recordings so I found this pretty alarming. Of course, I found this through Google's new privacy tool so at least I can delete them if I want.

Shame on you!

I imagine once +Kirill Grouchnikov finds out about this site, he'll open it on his phone and start walking around the office looking for people still using Eclipse.

I wonder if you could attach them to some sort of backpack to help with dangerous scientific experiments. I think four arms would probably do it.

Hello everyone,

I have to perform a survey for my Operating Systems class. It's only 3 quick questions and takes a couple minutes to complete. Please take it if you have the time.

Thanks for your help!

Pluto, King of the Kuiper Belt!

Pluto Resolved
Image Credit & Copyright: +NASA, Johns Hopkins Univ./APL, Southwest Research Inst.
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap150715.html

New Horizons has survived its close encounter with Pluto and has resumed sending back images and data. The robotic spacecraft reported back on time, with all systems working, and with the expected volume of data stored. Featured here is the highest resolution image of Pluto taken before closest approach, an image that really brings Pluto into a satisfying focus. At first glance, Pluto is reddish and has several craters. Toward the image bottom is a surprisingly featureless light-covered region that resembles an iconic heart, and mountainous terrain appears on the lower right. This image, however, is only the beginning. As more images and data pour in today, during the coming week, and over the next year, humanity's understanding of Pluto and its moons will likely become revolutionized.

AMAZING burgers and fries. Hands down, they have the juiciest, tastiest burgers and the crispest Cajun fries. The fries are made with Idaho potatoes and they give you a ton of them too. I absolutely love Five Guys.

This is a shopping center that had been around since before I was a kid. It's stores tend to have pretty good prices and there's a decent assortment of stores and restaurants in the area. They also have a Cashpoints ATM which is useful as a Simple user.

This is a wonderful restaurant with a great atmosphere. It's really cozy and the food is classic southern cooking with a modern twist. It's a tad pricey but totally worth it.

This is an awesome restaurant with a really cool concept. You order your food, which is basic Mexican food, and then you select from their huge variety of sauces to dip your food in. It's a lot of fun and works great for a large group of people.
