OK so if you have seen this new on any other site then yeah, it's 100% legit and in short what happens is that someone sends an MMS to your phone, before you even have a chance to read it (or see it) the MMS is deleted and whoever sent the MMS now has full access to your phones media (photos, videos etc...). They can access it at any point and you have no idea they are doing so.

So how do we fix it? Well if you aint overly techy then you simply switch off Auto MMS Retrieval and only retrieve an MMS if you think it's genuine and from someone you know. This "should" be enough to stop the hack working.

If you are more techy then you simply edit you build.prop file as follows:

media.stagefright.enable-player=false
media.stagefright.enable-meta=false
media.stagefright.enable-scan=false
media.stagefright.enable-http=false
media.stagefright.enable-rtsp=false
media.stagefright.enable-record=false

So over the past 8 month or so I've been using phones that are far from the big named brands and I have to admit that if you're still paying over the top prices for big name EU /US phones then you need to reevaluate things imho.

+OnePlus +Xiaomi MIUI +MEIZU +Honor Uk and similar companies have flagship devices with flagship builds and flagship specs for mid-range or below prices.

I'm currently using a Meizu MX5 and have to say I'm blown away by it for the price it's at.

There's a reason I've always loved the Asian market for phones, this is one of them.

So here's a question for us all to ponder...

If, any of the current NASA missions, prove that there is life (even on a microbial level) elsewhere in our solar system, would that conclusively blow religion out of the window?

How would the world react to such a discovery?

If there is a God, and I firmly believe there isn't, then life on other planets would help prove that It probably doesn't care about us on a personal level.

A Being that creates universes wouldnt care about a monkey that learned to talk.

Occasionally when listening to music I come across an unusual song or artist with an amazingly unique voice, this artist here is one I came across today and was very impressed with...

Does anyone know how to report when a song from +Google Play Music has the wrong track listing? This isn't a song I uploaded but rather a song that Google has in their library and it has the wrong name.

Does anyone live in or around the Greenock (Scotland) area have spare gears / pins for the AR Drone 2 that I could buy? I've never replaced these and kinda scared that I'll break something.

I was going to order new ones from Amazon but I really don't know which ones to order.

One of my gears is like the waltzers the way it's going up and down (pretty sure it's the pin).

Just remember folks - upgrading to Windows 10 -  Asimov/CEIP/WER (MS' real time telemetry system built into W10 to collect data on your usage patterns) will be running.

Until someone comes up with a tool to remove it or stop it then, literally everything you do is reported back to MS.

Microsoft said that it would be removed during release-to-manafacturing (RTM) - and it wasn't so upgrade with this in mind (or wait).

This is just a little post to clarify what is happening with the money we collected to help out +James Bricknell after his recent turn of bad luck (I kind of feel bad saying with what +Leigh Momii is going through).
At the time James was facing aditional airline charges due to having to change his flight times and then to compound things he lost his job as well, luckily he managed to find employment again (on a reduced salary) so there is light at the end of the tunnel for him. Obviously during the time James wasnt working he was dipping into the money he had saved to pay for his wedding to +Samantha P. Hawthorne and his main worry was simply to pay for the hire of his wedding venue, nothing fancy or extra. Through contacts on social media James managed to get the airline to be reasonable as well, and no longer had to face the additional charges.
With his slight upturn in fortune, we (I) decided that rather than present the amount we have collected there and then it woud maybe make sense to hold off until just before the wedding and give it as a wedding gift. It was probably daft of me not to have written this post at that time to explain the change in circumstances and the new 'plan' in order to let anyone who had donated know exactly what was happening with their money, but I'm pretty good at daft.
The money is still sitting in the PayPal account John@LandofDroid.com ready to be transferred before James leaves for the colonies. Obviously if anyone feels that they want their money back for whatever reason (Like he is no longer up shit creek) just contact me privatly and I will arrange for the transfer. On the flip of that of course, if you want to add to the now wedding gift fund just transfer however much you want to the PayPal account.
As I said at the top I feel kind of bad posting this today after seeing the terrible situation that Leigh has found herself in, but I still felt I had to clarify the position.

This is a hard one for me to answer, there are so many plus and minuses for me.

Example - Sony update their own apps faster than any other OEM I've seen however to me it feels like they are 3rd overall for updating Android.

We want to hear your thoughts on which OEM provides the fastest Android updates.

Do you feel that the OEM for your device keeps to their agreement or are they neglecting their customers and breaking their promises?

After owning the z1 compact I'd agree but it's short lived. The next flagship device is out so quickly, it pushes the last flagship back down the pecking order for updates.
