As we move forward with haste, it is important to keep our wits about us when considering our front end tooling.

I have really been taking a hard look at how expressive the code I author is, and for so long I have thought that writing good comments to tell the story was "safe".

The truth is, I want people to read my code, not my intentions. Therefore, my working goal is to look for more ways to avoid comments that otherwise detract from the code, but still leave the reader a clear understanding of how the program works.

So far I have felt liberated from writing comments. I am thinking deeper about the things I make.

This article is a great read about when it seems most appropriate to write comments.

This practice however is not for everyone, but this author provides good examples as to what types of things to avoid.

Back from our first off road trip to Rausch Creek Off-road park and I can't believe what my stock Jeep can do!  We had a great time - here is a gallery of just some of the action from the day.  It's too bad I couldn't get a photo of when I got the Jeep's front end off the ground.

I found out how easy yet dangerous creating peanut brittle can be.  The trick with this kind of stuff is withstanding the heat of the stove while you are making sure your mixture doesn't burn!

Cinnamon buns part II - I was up until 2AM after a full day of candy making to get these done.

Good thing for my phone alarm - it nodded me awake every hour or so until I got this batch to the finish line.

These came out better than the first since I up'd the fat content in some of the ingredients.

Now I need to give these away...

Made these gummy candies the other day - super easy to make.

Some challenges finding a good candy mold though.  Bed Bath and Beyond let me down here.  I ended up settling for these tiny ice cube trays...  This was a test run with simple Jello packets - I am planning on ordering some molds online - unless someone has a local idea?

Anyone know were to send bugs to Google? In the screenshot below you can see the "Share" button is pushed off of the screen due to the height of the modal window.  Since it is a modal - there is no way for me to scroll down to hit the button.

I was able to change the css on the the page to keep my post and share it - but just a thought to those using Modal's in general - if you can't scroll the page then you could be shifting important UI elements off of the page making your feature unusable.
