In order to extract value from a data-driven healthcare system, organizations will need to thoroughly understand data science.

We need to coded all clinical parameters, drugs and tests so that we can get all sorts of statistical analysis reports from the data feed by the physicians. We have developed a Web system for phycians www.myhealth71.com

Can't wait to interview Alan Portela.  He's one of my favorite people to talk to in healthcare IT.  I'm looking forward to hearing his insights into the health IT market.

In this hangout we'll sit down with Alan Portela, CEO of AirStrip, to talk about the AirStrip story and where mHealth (mobile health if you prefer) is heading in the future.
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Healthcare Scene. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

The Senate just passed the bill that will delay ICD-10 until 2015: http://www.emrandhipaa.com/emr-and-hipaa/2014/03/27/to-icd-10-delay-or-not-to-icd-10-delay/

What do you think of the delay?  What will be the impact of another delay?
UPDATE: It looks like this bill has passed the house with a voice vote. I believe it still needs to be passed by Congress and not be vetoed by the

+David Cuberos I asked the question what will be different in 2015: http://www.emrandhipaa.com/emr-and-hipaa/2014/07/03/what-would-make-us-not-delay-icd-10-in-2015/

Unfortunately, I don't see anything that will be different.  The only hope is that enough people that want ICD-10 to happen really make their voices heard.

Except I don't see any EMR vendors hiring coders.  The EHR vendors won't hire those that are trained in the ONC workforce program, so I can't imagine them hiring many of these coders either.

I won't be surprised if we skip ICD-10 and go to 11.  I'd hate to have to plan my career if I were a coder.
