Super well summarized theories around the Fermi Paradox.
Scientists estimate that there are over 100,000 intelligent alien civilizations in our galaxy alone—but we've never heard anything from any of them. Here are 13 possible explanations for why.

I used to think like this when I was a kid. I wish I still did :)

+1 If you can relate to this feeling :) Remember to cut your kids slack (and yourself!) when they make mistakes.

This Californian gentleman will in a couple of weeks climb Mt. Everest and then...wait for it...jump off the summit in a wing-suit with a planned landing at the base-camp. Worrying less about the jump itself and more about how the sudden pressure changes will affect him. Dreaming up the challenge alone is a feat. wow.

First flight after passing my checkride. Beautiful evening sun over San Francisco.

Passed my checkride and got my certificate! First flight as a private pilot - gliding over San Francisco in the evening sun. I love this.

Walking through the local supermarket I tend to agree. Refined flour, sugar and corn syrup products en masse are more the rule than the exception. No wonder they have a whole row of antiacids and sleeping aids in the very same store. We gave this instant artificial gratification food culture a couple of decades and it doesn't seem to be working.

Since when do tobacco companies disclose.....anything....about the contents of a package?

No one knows what's in a cigarette...maybe tobacco...maybe not? Maybe chemicals, maybe fertilizer?

The only thing regulated about cigarettes are taxes and age restrictions. Neither of those are appropriate for food.

Those aren't chickens. They're not allowed to cross the road!

Anyone who has a sense of whether rebreathers are becoming safer to use? The concept is obviously extremely cool. But more opportunities to make a mistake or equip. failure.

With less bubbles and longer dive times, rebreather diving offers many exciting benefits. Have you tried it? http://bit.ly/1o4lolh

Wow congrats Stephen. Curious if he will show up in his own persona or not.

Word is he won't use his Colbert persona. If you want to see Colbert in his normal persona, view The Daily Show episode where he substitutes for Stewart and interviews Ralph Nader and proclaims himself to be a U.S. democrat.

Close to unbelievable this is not a simulation but actual imaging. Amazing peek in to the effects of a black hole on an unsuspecting star.

Update: it is a simulation after all

How a Black Hole Consumes a Star

This amazing footage (from +NASA - who else?) shows just how devastatingly powerful a #blackhole  truly is.

Shot over the course of 139 days, this visualization footage shows a supermassive black hole that is approximately 2.7 billion light years away from earth decimating a star. From +SPACE.com:

"In this visualization, some of the murdered star's debris falls into the void, but some is spun up and shot out at high velocities.Credit: NASA, S. Gezari (The Johns Hopkins University), and J. Guillochon (University of California, Santa Cruz)."

The arc of stardust that is flung out into the #cosmos  is unbelievable.

It's a #gif  like this that reminds us here at www.solarvps.com that #space  is not only mind boggingly big, but also mind-boggingly violent and treacherous, even for objects as massive as stars.

Great with a choice between mats and real grass. Spacious and plenty of room. Very well taken care of practice green. Chipping green needs some work. Great deep nasty bunker to practice in. $10 for the biggest bucket of range balls. Even has three real holes you can practice on with or without a pro instructor. Well set up place to improve your golf. I'll come back for sure.

OK - this is in no way gourmet food but when you feel like solid grub with loads of veggies and lean meat, this is a great place to get a few well customized plates of woked style food. Always love Mongolian BBQ. (Or any BBQ for that matter..)

This Ramen place didn't do it for me. The taste is off and the service in a Ramen-place can be super casual but not sloppy please. Better places around. Don't accept credit cards.
