A pause on my morning bike to work.   Contrails criss-crossing the sky on the horizon near the Moss Landing power plant caught my eye.   The ring around the sun was less noticeable.   It always interests me how the camera sees things differently.

Cake available at the opening ceremony of La Fonda Bridge - A bridge crossing Highway 1 in Santa Cruz, near the Soquel exit.   The rebuilt bridge is wider on both axis, allowing for traffic  on the bridge to have wider sidewalks on both sides and a bike lane.  And it was built longer, to support widening of Highway one beneath it from four total lanes to six.   Originally scheduled to be completed by March, it was finally opened yesterday.

Nostalgia, it isn't what it used to be.  Anybody remember GeoCities?

Free Press, so far the US is one country which doesn't censor the internet. The SOPA & PIPA bills would. Benjamin Franklin stated that 'Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security. I'm appalled that Obama renewed the 'Patriot' Act. Here We have a chance to intercede.
Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.. Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Sena...

Damn funny, IMO. If you're not logged into Facebook you're not affected. The solution is obvious...

Gotta Brag.  My youngest is off to Scottland, having finished his senior year in High School and completing his Boy Scout Eagle Project.

Why I despise George Bush and Cheney. In My opinion they should be tried as war criminals.   The fact that Obama renewed the 'Patriot Act' disgusts me...   The Ben Franklin admonition about security and liberty has been ignored.

So, why did he do it? President Carter called President Obama on the carpet because wrong is just wrong. And the truth must be told no matter whom it hurts….or when it hurts, or how bad it hurts. Those who still support the President, must allow the scales covering their eyes to fall away and face the obvious truth. The President has been acting as would any ordinary, power hungry warmonger. (George W. Bush comes readily to mind. In fact, most of the President’s bad behavior here is merely enhancement of Bush’s original so-called “doctrines”).

There is little time left for Obama to redeem himself, though. As a gesture of good faith, however, I suggest that, at the very least, President Obama begin by returning his Nobel Peace Prize.

Clean, free wi-fi, Continental breakfast not nutritious - could have used bagels with creme cheese or *some* protein source. (All the pastries you want though). The Train track across the street reminded me of my childhood, listening to the trains. Not a problem for me, but could be for a real light sleeper. About a quarter mile from 'downtown' Mt. Shasta. An easy walk. Price seemed reasonable.

Mu Shu Pork, Sizzling Rice soup, an order placed after a freeway stop off of I-5, after too many days on the road eating burgers. While I wasn't too hopeful, as Willows is a small town, the food was great. The Sizzling rice soup had a nice sizzle, the mu-shu was fresh. Some chinese restaurants (Panda Express for example) don't have truly 'fresh' food, unless you consider pre-processed, canned and frozen food fresh.. The Food at Wongs was all fresh and delicious. Next time I'm passing through, I'll eat there again!
