An empty New York City at night in the winter...

There are nights

when dreams 

illuminate the

city streets

like stars.

Memories dance

with 

steam ghosts

exhaling

into the night air.

And the city

streets 

lay dormant

under winter’s

heavy thoughts

as the sky 

kisses the air

and tree branches

reach for

the night sky

while we 

make our

way home

stopping for 

brief moments

to relish

the silence.

Taken on a bitterly cold night last week with my Sony A7 II during a rare moment in time when New York City banned all vehicles from the streets leaving the city deliciously empty.
