Looking forward to the Ian Apperley issue of +Access Granted NZ while flying to Austin pre South by Southwest.

Really enjoyed Lillian Grace on Wiki NZ last week, and +Anna Guenther from PledgeMe the previous week. Oh and +Vaughan Rowsell before that. I'm a junkie for this show now.

Thanks +Mike Riversdale and +Raj Khushal!

Taupo Missions

Just getting around to submitting these to the database.  Here are first two missions in Taupo:

1) Taupo Graffiato Art Trail
Doesn't take 1.5 hours... the first two people took 8 hours each (I guess they got distracted or drunk before finishing). Takes about 20 minutes. Easy hacks, and a nice walk through Taupo town centre.

2) Taupo Secure Perimeter
A little more demanding. Requires capturing all portals. Helps to have a car as you're touring the outskirts of town. Took me about 50 minutes but I knew where everything was.

Enjoy!  - vrtual

I'm at The Most FM in New Plymouth with host Warwick promoting our jazz / funk experience, the band called Hot Tub!

We're playing Waiau Estate on Sunday afternoon from 3 til 6pm. Beautiful venue, gorgeous weather.

Cool collection of NZ music courtesy of +Flying Out 30 free tracks if you sign up to their newsletter. A great variety of stuff, something for (nearly) everyone.

http://flyingout.co.nz/pages/newsletter-signup

"Flying Out have decided to release a 30-track compilation featuring a song from each of the bands that performed at The Other's Way last year.

The compilation is available as a free download for the next month to all our current, and future, newsletter subscribers, plus any one who attends our first The Other's Way Show for 2015, on March 5 (The Wine Cellar, Auckland).

Featuring a wide range of genres, from electronica, hip-hop, indie rock, punk and even a comedy piece, The Other's Way, A Compilation is a great showcase of some of the best New Zealand music to be released last year, as well as some brand new and previously unreleased tracks."

If the public was a sovereign nation and the spy agencies some aggressive power, this would be seen as transgressing some boundary right?

So I should feel safer now right? Why is it that I don't?
American and British spies hacked into the internal computer network of the largest manufacturer of SIM cards in the world.

Imagined danger and propaganda, despite crime levels at lowest in 50 years, means a Dad has to face off to a gun-toting cop because he let his kids walked home from the playground alone... awesome.
We revisit the idea of free range kids and look at how the helicopter parents may have won, as evidenced in recent arrests of parents who give their kids independence. Continue reading →

+John Curtis Not completely crazy, but on the spectrum. I see alternatives, though. We're planning on using walking school bus approach to make sure we know the area thoroughly and get to know other families. That should help abate irrational fears.

Amazon now bills for Web Services in Local Currencies

Just got an email offering the option to be billed in NZ dollars direct to my credit card. Great feature! No more handing over money to the banks to support my AWS habit.

Now #googleappsforwork  - your move... As an authorised Google Apps Reseller I'm tired of paying out a good chunk of my meagre cut to banks in offshore fees every month. NZD billing please!

Wow - this is nice. Just finished a meeting on Google Hangouts and this pops up. Much nicer than the black screen with "there's no-one here" written on it!
