Quick—who’s the largest consumer of energy in the world? China? Europe? None of the above. It’s the U.S. Department of Defense. Our military’s consumption of energy makes it a prime candidate for going green, saving money, reducing our country’s environmental footprint, and creating more energy jobs. The DOD isn’t blind to this fact. It’s going to accelerate it’s green technology use over the next twelve years. - See more at: http://usgreentechnology.com/us-green-stories/energy-jobs-dept-of-defense-drives-clean-energy-market/#sthash.n9Qj0iMj.dpuf

There are many ads that tout the good fuel economy of some of the new cars. Does that mean that it is more eco-friendly to get a new car than to keep driving an older car? It's not really that simple, and there are a number of factors to consider. Many people assume that hybrids are eco-friendly ...

Though not exactly what he had in mind at the time, Kermit the Frog said it best: It's not easy being green. Cities like Portland, OR do their best to make it easy for their citizens to recycle. But in the process, end up making it difficult and confusing just to dispose of a piece of trash.

We contracted Chicago Decorative Concrete to make a concrete frame for a 54”x54” map of Paris we wanted to hang on our Living Room wall. Originally, we found the oversized framed map of Paris at a Restoration Hardware (RH); however, agreed we could do it for much cheaper (RH was $2495.00 when we looked) and found the same unframed print on eBay. After doing some online research we came across the Chicago Decorative Concrete website and found pictures of similar custom concrete projects. We immediately contacted them and they were eager to take-on the project. I have to say the final result was better than we could have hoped. The frame has a very cool vintage look that complements the map and décor of our Living Room. It is also much lighter (only around 65-70lbs) than we would have thought using a light concrete mix making it easy to hang. We plan to use Chicago Decorative Concrete for future home improvement projects!
