In Atlanta the wage:cost-of-living ratio is high enough that our software engineers can all afford to live indoors.
When 23-year-old Brandon S. headed from Massachusetts to the Bay Area in mid-May to start work as a software engineer at Google, he opted out of settling into an overpriced San Francisco apartment. The idea started to formulate while Brandon — who asked to withhold his last name and photo to maintain his privacy on campus — was interning at Google last summer and living in the cheapest corporate housing offered: two bedrooms and four people for ...

This looks really, really cool!

Tile38 is an open source (MIT licensed), in-memory geolocation data store, spatial index, and realtime geofence. It supports a variety of object types including lat/lon points, bounding boxes, XYZ tiles, Geohashes, and GeoJSON.

So hilarious

"The consistency makes me wish I didn't have a mouth."

You know those horrifying-sounding "vintage" recipes from mid-20th century American cookbooks and ads that people occasionally discover and post on the Internet? Someone actually tried making some of them. And worse, eating them. The reality is apparently no better than you might imagine.
"Directions: Pour into an oiled fish mold and chill until firm."

Story
Introduction
With a background that includes surfing, professional cooking, waterfalls, foot launched flight and mountain biking...it should be clear that LIVING is my favorite activity.
For work, I've been writing web applications since 1998 and flying airplanes since 2003. I believe firmly in living after my passions and doing what grabs me...life is too short to do things you don't like.
I'm open to contract development opportunities with PHP programming on an ongoing basis, especially working with Joomla, CakePHP, Codeigniter or third-party API integrations....and especially for companies that have an airplane in need of a pilot ;)
Have a PHP project that is stalled or needs fresh eyes and hands? Let me know! I'd love the opportunity to help.

My date said, "I kept waiting for the delicious explosion of Asian flavor...and it never happened". Completely underwhelmed.

These folks are really fantastic. Recently, my E46 blew a clutch slave cylinder. I was away from home and stranded. Found Harrison Motorsports here on Google and given the great reviews and proximity to my location, I figured I'd take a chance with them. Had the car towed there and left the key in the dropbox and called the next morning. By lunch they'd fixed the clutch for less than $300! I was so surprised at the price (I've never been to the shop for less than $1K) I asked for a quote on my motor mounts and a brake system flush/bleed. The price on the motor mounts was WAY less than the estimate I got from my other shop. Paid over the phone and picked up the car that night...excellent work! I will definitely be back next time I have a job I can't (or would rather not) do myself. Thanks!!

I am a BMW E46 owner who is, for the first time in life, doing my own maintenance and repair work on my car. I've been ordering parts from FCP Euro for a little over a year and am completely pleased. The prices are fair, availability is great (they'll find it if they don't have it), packaging is perfect and the 'fit guarantee' is all the security I need. The team there does a terrific job when I have questions. I really couldn't be more pleased.
