Wonderful overview of Fruili, which is as close to heaven as the Italians have come
Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Free-oo-lee Ve-ne-tsyah Joo-lyah) is known for producing some of the greatest Italian white wines. See a map of the region and discover its wines

Wrote this about how much I suck at snowboarding.
A snowboarding trip takes a turn for the worse when an overconfident East Coaster tries to tackle Tahoe.

I have a really chic black Bogner ski jumpsuit -- sort of like a Chanel, black with gold buttons, very eighties. Good for snowboarding?

My review of the Phantom by +Devialet and +Robb Gear sneak peak.

Kayne has custom one. Karl Lagerfeld bought 20 and Colette in Paris changed its entire sound system over to them. Want to know why?
The new Bluetooth music pod stands out as an innovative leader of compact luxury audio systems.

Leave your locavore dogma out of wine
Wine country restaurants are (finally!) taking their wine lists way, way beyond Napa and Sonoma.

MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THERE ARE NO RETURNS EVER> I had just lost my favorite pair of Ray Bans sunglasses and wanted to replace them. I went into this sunglass shop because it is a local business, but the service was initially so gruff that I walked out and reconsidered, hoping that another check of my house would turn up my lost sunglasses. When I didn't find them I went back and purchased the replacement pair and brought them home. The next morning I found the misplaced pair and called Trendy Sunglasses to see if it would be possible to return the unused pair that had been purchased one day before and was told that there are "no returns" and no exceptions. Even when I explained the situation (a situation I had explained to the unfriendly shop owner the day before when making the purchase) I was told there could be no exceptions. Further she expounded that it is not the shop's responsibility to make sure the customer is aware of the return policy. I was told, in effect, too bad, we already have your money. Further I was told be the owner that if they gave me a refund then everybody would want one. Which really doesn't show a lot of pride or confidence in your service or merchandise. This business has a no returns policy that prints on the receipt you get after you pay, but does not make this clear before the purchase is made (a clear violation of Civil Code Section 1723). This in addition to the fact that the owner is just plain rude, even to a new customer who lives in the neighborhood who is spending more than $200 on sunglasses.

Great long hike to the falls, depending on where you start from. The falls, during the dry season, can be less than spectacular, but the view is fantastic no matter what.

Completely passable ramen. The broth lacks some kick and flavor, but isn't altogether bad. If you've got a ramen itch and in the neighborhood, this'll scratch it.
