So true. Who says rape has to have any kind of actual definition or severe implications?

I got raped when I watched this video.

Has it's problems but one thing you can say about Unity is it looks gorgeous.

inb4 "PC GRAFIX R BETTA" — I know. This is console, though.

Over the last few weeks I've kind of taken a step back (drifted away might be more accurate), and the only strike against GamerGate that my new perspective has given is the lack of an end game. I'm not sure what tangible result GamerGate hope for, or how they know they've got it (re: media corruption). My own involvement is simply down to the morons like Sarkeesian issuing blanket statements about how "gamers" are misogynists, or how supporting GamerGate is supporting harassment.

Increasingly it feels like "social justice" is about picking the worst examples of your opposition in any given debate, and waging a PR campaign to convince the rest of the world that ANYONE who disagrees with you is the same.

In an ideal world one would be able to say, "Fine, let's assume for one moment that I AM a misogynist rape apologist, as you claim. For argument's sake, that is no longer in question. Now respond to the criticisms I leveled against you", but people don't work like that. Once you're tarred, nobody wants to hear what you have to say.

It's always nice to have someone tell you what your goals and motives are. It strikes me as odd that the very same people who claim this space is toxic and misogynistic and racist etc, are the same people who refuse to believe the #NotYourShield folks are real, leading to those people posting pics of themselves holding up bits of paper to prove they'd just taken the picture. "This space is dangerous for women, let's deny their existence until they partially dox themselves" - logic.

My involvement with #GamerGate started when gaming media and people like Watson started sending the message that anyone who has point to make against Anita Sarkeesian's videos, or anyone who thinks Depression Quest was a poor game that shouldn't have got on Steam, are EXACTLY the same as the arseholes who threaten ZQ/AS.

Check the GamerGate hashtag on Twitter and you'll find person after person decrying any kind of abusive or harassing behaviour and telling people to leave Zoe Quinn out of it, but sure, it's all about harassment.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.

Incidentally, I always find that Fucking Ducks fuck better when they're all in a line.

Terry Pratchett's Spirit of Fantasy autobiography was about 5 books down on my reading pile. I think it might be jumping the queue now.

It would be weird having a female doctor but if the writing was up to scratch everyone would be over it after a few episodes (people questioned the old Scottish guy, too). Of the three suggestions, as much as I love Jessica Hynes, it's not even close. Emma Thompson all the way.

Leaving aside that half the video is just showing one bug over and over (the glitchy NPCs), most of these are collision bugs that a) aren't that bad and b) are still found in a lot of big budget games that have been out for months. They should do better, sure, but this is not unusual, and certainly not the worst offender.

Fuck me it's painful to watch Affleck in this video. Arguing on pure emotion, acting as though his level of personal offence directly correlates to how valid his stance is, sulking like a child in between speaking. Whatever your opinions on his movie career, this man should NOT be voicing political opinions.

We have to contend with that echo/reverb on the podcast. You have to make her wear headphones. Force it on her. Don't take no for an answer.

Great interview.

My partner and I went with our 3 year old son for a week, and had an amazing time. The entertainment available for children was plentiful, and the Funstars lived up to their name. Also, Rory the Tiger was a big hit with our son, and the drive home was a little sad as he kept saying he wanted to see Rory again. The park itself is within a short drive of a number of good spots for a day out (I'd recommend Abersoch for the beach and Porthmadog for the shopping). The only gripe I'd have is that there were the occasional signs of neglect—things like damp on the ceiling of the swimming pool area, or weeds around some caravans—but it's a small gripe compared to the positives. I would love to go back next year.
