Love this show because it so bad it is good. The moon would have to be traveling faster than light speed to visit all the solar systems it goes thru. Also like Star Trek has it's red shirts getting killed on every episode, they lose a shuttle craft every episode.

yes i use to watch this and wonder how could they visit so many plants in such a short time and why dont they run out of space ships. The only good thing about the show was the use of models, Gerry Anderson was a master of their use.

Once again TYT misses the boat. I guess researching Japans demographic problems was just too hard for you. Japan has too many old people and not enough younger ones to fill jobs. If it was merely about cutting costs they would send the jobs to China. Also robots are coming here too regardless. Self driving cars and robot security guards are just 2 examples. Does this mean humans are doomed? No it just means we will evolve into something very different at a rate unseen in nature. The box is already opened and there isnt a damn thing you can do about it.

Most less egocentric and racist countries than Japan, allow non ethnically pure people to migrate there, and fill jobs, in Japan you can be 4th generation born there, but coz you ain't Japanese ethnicity, no citizenship, no rights. So the easy answer to to open up borders for immigrants with the job skills needed, but that will dilute ethnic purity, and we can't have that, what you japs afraid of? Revenge for ww2?

Defenders of slavery noted that in the Bible, Abraham had slaves. They point to the Ten Commandments, noting that "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, ... nor his manservant, nor his maidservant." In the New Testament, Paul returned a runaway slave, Philemon, to his master, and, although slavery was widespread throughout the Roman world, Jesus never spoke out against it.

I don't need any book to tell me slavery is wrong, besides, doesn't it say Jesus said do unto others as you would have others do unto you? That in my opinion covers slavery. I wouldn't want to be sold into slavery and owned, and I'll be no part of doing it to someone else.

Residential Electricity Customers Subsidize Corp Customers to the Tune of $50 billion in 2014

This is a chart of rates on a state by state basis. Notice how the residential rates are much higher than commercial and especially industrial rates?

Most states have utility commissions which set the rates utilities can charge so it isn't simply a matter of volume discounts. When you consider we now spend 443 billion for home energy costs the amount of this hidden corp welfare is monstrous. In Michigan the industrial rate is half of what residential customers pay, stores like Walmart pay maybe 75% of what we do. Lets just average it out to a 25% discount, so 443 billion X .25 = 110 billion. Now lets divided that by 2 since much of that is for space and water heating so we get a total of around $50 billion in hidden corp welfare per year and growing.

By comparison the entire budget for Aid to Families with Dependant Children (Welfare) is only $17 billion in fiscal year 2014.

Funny how the regressive right is silent about the job numbers now that the election is over. 8 years of Bush got us about 2 million in total job growth which didn't keep pace with the population growth. 6 years of Obama with the GOP trying to throw a monkey wrench in every bit of the way still got us over twice the job growth in less time.

"Here, the big winner is Reagan, who rebounded nicely from the recession in the early 1980s. Obama stays pretty flat. And in second is Clinton -- who never had a recession to rebound from.

Which president created the most jobs? That's somewhat open to interpretation. But by any metric, it wasn't Obama."

Sorry you've fallen back on insults and name calling.  I'd say I was disappointed, that I expected better from you, but I'd be lying.

If you wanted to reduce gun deaths, the so called assault rifles are not the way to go. Pistols account for the lion share of gun deaths in the United States. In fact you are 16 times more likely to be killed by a handgun than a rifle. This includes all rifles, of which the so called assault weapons are only a small subsection of. You are even 4 times more likely to be stabbed to death than shot with a rifle.

The data for this chart was courtesy of Quandl, which originally came from the FBI. You can get the Excel plugin here: https://www.quandl.com/help/excel#Windows-Install

You aren't 4 times more likely to get stabbed to death randomly in a public place somewhere. "Assault rifles" are really good for killing lots of people in a short amount of time. That's the problem with them.
