Of course I can't officially or unofficially comment. But unofficially my unofficial comment is "about time!"

And more Google Earth news
As Google Earth celebrates its 10th anniversary, it's evolving way beyond a way to find your house.

Last week we made a change to the way that access to My Maps is controlled for Google Apps users. Back when My Maps was part of the Maps Engine family (it was called "Maps Engine Lite" at the time), access to My Maps was controlled by the same switch as the rest of Maps Engine.

As previously mentioned Google My Maps is now in your Google Apps Admin Dashboard. The default settings for the release of new products should be inherited from user settings , but if you are looking to turn it on for organizations, this is where you can find it...

(Thanks to +Dean Phillips for figuring this out)

Yesterday Google Earth celebrated its 10th birthday!

This one application has touched the careers and lives of millions, not least my own. Which is why its very exciting to be able to finally tell about some changes in the world of GE. As announced this morning on the Google Lat Long blog there is now a big new layer highlighting some of the great imagery we have around the world.

The effort was lead by Sean Askay, new Engineering manager of Google, because a little while ago Google Earth became part of the Geo for Good family (along with Earth Outreach and Earth Engine). So I now sit next to the lead Googler on Google Earth :-)

Stay tuned for exciting things ahead...

Its a Cultural Institute thing. Its the same UX they use for the Art Project. The seem to keep it propitiatory. The "story" that was created used  https://opengallery.culturalspot.org/
