Serious feedback from Japan. It's long but I'm glad if you take a look.
In Japan since end of August, maybe due to this algorithm, many search results of queries like “Prada key case”, “Prada wallet heart”, “headphone very cheap” etc. get odd.
They are shrunk to less than 10 results, and therefore Google Book pages which seldom meet user’s needs and unfiltered spams appear on the top 10.
And when such extreme affection comes, it reduces diversity of relevant results as well.
Any time the filter is applied, they only include a few certain websites. Imagine you want to buy Prada key case or cheap headphones, and Google tells “You can buy them from Amazon.com or eBay, but nowhere else.” Some large websites are filtered put (imagine Walmart website never appears for any queries after filtering), and so are most of local/SMB websites.
Are these symptoms what you intended with the algorithm? I hope not.
For example, her's a SERP for “Prada wallet heart”.
User intends Prada wallets with heart mark design. There may be plenty of relevant shops, reviews, etc.
But this result consists of these.
1st : Google image search
2nd : A large shopping mall
3rd to 5th : Another shopping mall
6th to 9th : Spams
That’s all. Google serves two relevant websites and spams as the world’s best 10 choices.Oct 5, 2015
