Eloquently put: "I stand fast by the opinion that since most Americans can’t be trusted to use apostrophes properly, allowing them firearms is a generally bad idea."

It is somewhat striking how well Russia is showing it owns (in the hacking sense; economically) the US, these days.
The interruption came as a Congresswoman delivered a speech critical of Trump and Russia.

This explains a lot. A Trump under Putin's thumb seems like it's less a possibility, and more a reality. Living in interesting times.

Hammer it home, guys.  MSM, too, if you can stop chasing for access and ratings over veracity
What’s in that report circulating about Trump? While much of the attention that’s going to be generated by this report will focus on the disgusting nature of the “kompromat” the Russians generated on Trump, the really shocking item? What the Russians...

Got to love the ingenuity of people that miss the engine noise in their Tesla. :-)

Is 2016 the year the first internet generation (read: all who read this) learned about death, as something that actually happens to people they care about?

Neoliberalism summed up better than I have ever seen:

"Freedom from trade unions and collective bargaining means the freedom to suppress wages. Freedom from regulation means the freedom to poison rivers, endanger workers, charge iniquitous rates of interest and design exotic financial instruments. Freedom from tax means freedom from the distribution of wealth that lifts people out of poverty."

~50 hours to go at the time of writing for kitting up with one of these babies at Kickstarter. I'm prepping for my first USB C mac, also getting myself a magsafe-anything-USB-C adapter from https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/branchusb/magneo-first-true-usb-c-magnetic-adapter (12d to go).
World's Most Compact, Fastest 50Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 USB-C Hub for MacBook Pro. Adds HDMI, USB 3.1 x 2, microSD/SD, Thunderbolt 3 & USB-C

Nice! It is joyful to see the world go USB-C. (And shove all legacy connectors into devices like these.)

Nice; a gmail compose deep link and gmail search chrome url bar search engine definition will come in handy.

I wrote down the two email/chrome things that keep me sane and that I've never read about anywhere (other email lifehacks are repeated to death).
Don’t get distracted by your inbox when you don’t need it.

I can't believe I never heard of (or thought up) the geometrical representation of tan()! An elegant little video on trigonometry.

I've been watching a few geohot talks related to his startup on making a level three driving assistance system, and this hour long (if you skip some minute forward each time the host is plugging his sponsors) interview is by far the most enjoyable of them. It's personal conversation style, not a lot of boasting, it's pretty down to earth, and laced with lots of current state of the field, and some pretty fun war stories and opinion.

Healthy soundscapes are a public health and social justice issue. Noise pollution ought to be penalized, just as every other kind of environmental hazard.

If every train toots well above the pain threshold each time they approach or leave a station, and we assign a price to pay for that, watch change happen at all sorts of levels, rapidly.
Inside the science of negative sound effects, and what we can do about them.

Wonderful location, practical, inexpensive, convenient, and kind of social dormitory bunk bed lodging, showers, wifi, even a laundry machine. No cooking abilities to speak of.

45 minute wait time, and then when I got served, they sold me the wrong thing. I asked for a sim card for mostly data traffic that won't expire monthly, to be used over the next six months while I'm visiting the country (they do sell these), and still got one that would expire a month later. Revisiting to try to have this corrected today.

A little gimmicky, and I had expected more. Paying upwards of 300 SEK / $45 for 300g of shrimps I had to strip myself at the table, and some bread with that was poor value for money.

Bad hours. This place shuts down in the evening and won't take your credit card after that.
