My name is Johan Aakerlund, I live in Copenhagen and study design engineering at the Technical University of Denmark. I've been interested in graphical design for quite a few years but it was only about three years ago i got my eyes opened to the amazing world of typography.

I am a self taught font designer - so what I know I've learned through trial and error, books, and the internet (Google is my friend).

What i think is so amazing about fonts, is the simplicity of the format in contrast to the complexity of final fonts. The format basically only allows for a set of black and white shapes defined by vectors and points, yet some people are able to create true art - characters of real beauty (I believe) with these very simple means. I still have much to learn.

Being a student, I don't have as much time for type designing as I would like. And so the progress of new font developing is moving quite slowly, however surely.
