You don't even need to ask.

Should You Vaccinate Your Child?
A handy flowchart... the short answer: yes, stop being an idiot.

Alan Rickman wanted this...

His final project was to make this adorable short video and hope for it to go viral on +YouTube.

By simply watching it we can help the cause he made this for AND make his final project a success.  A win/win if ever I heard of one.

H/T +Tu Lam for sharing.

It's sick how much time we have spent on "cabling things". But technology is here to deliver innovating solutions :p

The Flash has done it. Season 1 ended tonight, and I can say without any question in my mind: This is the greatest first season of a TV show. Ever.

The season finale had me in tears at one part, screaming at the TV on another, and mouth agape in yet another. This show has it all!

Vegan and Expecting

My wife and I are adopting a baby who is due next month and I'm starting to research Soy Baby Formula. Does anyone with experience have any advice?

Please remember that breast feeding and purchasing vegan breastmilk (unless you are planning on donating it) are not options for us.

Ours have all been breast fed as well, so we can't offer advice. Blessings upon you for choosing to adopt! As an adopted person this brings me joy. Good luck +Joey Heck!

The official Mensa Practice test is only $1 right now!

I used a free test when I was deciding if I qualified (and my results were exactly the same as the official one), but I would have gladly done this for $1

The official practice test: https://www.us.mensa.org/join/mht/

Here's the link to a free one that I enjoy as well: http://iqtest.dk/main.swf
The Mensa Practice Test is a fun, unofficial way to discover if you are Mensa material.

Introduction
Joey wasn't born a Heck, but was born Joey Guevara. He made the switch when he married fellow Star Wars geek, Natasha M. Heck, in 2006. This is one example of him not being your average Joe. Joey is a vegan, but sometimes jokes about eating babies. He is quoted saying "Hey, you are what you eat, and I only eat vegan babies". He is Mayan on his dad's side, and zombie on his mom's. His favorite book is George Orwell's 1984, which is also the year of his birth. Joey loves kitties, especially his kitties Topher and Sophie. He loves cats so much that if granted two wishes by a genie, the second would be a lion robot that would double as a powered armor suit.

Sipz is near to my heart, as one of San Diego's longest vegetarian spots. I've tried many deserts, entrees, sides and desserts, and I like them all. I especially love the General Tso's for a spicy treat, and the tremendous flavor of the Salt and Pepper (though it sounds so plain!).

Good food served quickly. The staff was knowledgeable about ingredients and help me avoid the falafel since it contained egg. There were plenty of choices for a vegan meal.

I really enjoyed the food at Araya's Place. We dined in on a Friday night around 7pm and I think an employee called in sick because the service was slow and one of our group didn't have the meal served until after everyone else was finished. They did remove that item from the bill after we requested it.

We were invited to a special event at Spreckels Theatre during Comic Con to watch the premier of Outlander with the actors and the author of the books. The theater was beautifully decorated for the event, but I don't know what it would look like without the scottish theme. We watched the show on the projected screen, along with live musical performances by the show's composer, and a bagpipe performance. After the show the actors and show creators were interviewed on stage. The Spreckels theatre is wonderful for a classical theater experience.

I've eaten at two of Cafe Gratitude's locations in LA and both have been amazing. The staff at this location is fantastic, and our server remembered us after just one visit. My wife craves the chia milkshake. So we are excited that a location is opening up in San Diego soon. I like to order new food each time I visit because I've been happy every time!

Great variety of food and dessert. I decided to try a mexican theme and ordered nachos and tacos. The vegan nachos were great, though the cheese is intentionally cold, and it took a second to realize that. They use home made pickled jalapenos that have an incredible sweet flavor. The tacos had great flavor as well. At the time they still served oatmeal cream pie, and those were great. They've since updated the menu, but I've never had a meal I didn't like.

We dined at Plumeria because of their wide selection of vegan options. I enjoyed the Satay with it's sweet cucumber 'salad' (more of a relish) and peanut sauce. I had the Garlic Pepper entree, and it was very good. I was a bit jealous of my wife's choice of dish, named Tangerine. It closely resembles a Sweet and Sour dish you might find at an Americanized Chinese restaurant. The service was excellent, with several people making sure our waters were full, or empty dishes were removed. The price was very reasonable. I'll be returning to Plumaria often.
