What do you get for being better than the rest before they're ready?
The year was 2006 and I just got a new album for Christmas that was four years old and for one reason or another never found it's way into my collection sooner.
That album was "Terraforming" by The Postman Syndrome,+Chris Alfano
band of the time.
As I finally allowed the full experience of the album to wash over me, having only heard bits and pieces until then, I was violently taken aback by how it not only sounded fresh (being almost five years old), but was also light years ahead of what was currently happening in music.
Fast forward to 2015 and "Terraforming" still sounds as youthful and vibrant as it did upon my first listen nine years ago and 13 years from it's original release.
That's why +Chris Alfano
will be sitting in the hot seat this week, to figure out what you can do with too much talent.
Also, just so you don't think Chris and his bandmates were a one hit wonder, they've pretty much been repeating that process ever since, most notably with his new band East of the Wall.
You can get ready for the conversation by listening to "Terraforming" for yourself here. http://amzn.to/17N0rWa Today we are going to go deep, rattle some cages and figure out what your talent gets you.
