Joel, Sorry for the late response but I didn't want to pass this conversation up. I think the organizations and businesses (especially in Erie) are missing the main point of social media...especially Twitter. For the most part, businesses are using it as another advertisement...another way to "push" themselves on to the consumer. Instead of pushing...they should be trying to connect with people and show that they give a crap about them....the results from their "social media attempt" would be far different. It will all catch on eventually...even in Erie...and when it does, the people, businesses and organizations that have been authentically connecting through it....will win. Everyone else will be playing catch up.
