I am a licensed real estate agent in Cape Coral, Florida and I would love to share a little about the story behind the latest season of my life that transitioned me into my current role as a business owner. Truth be told, this season helped me grow as a person more than any that preceded it. It saw me take a risk and embark on a career in real estate, return to my career as a teacher, and come full circle back into real estate. This may seem strange to you but struggles of the heart have been very common in my life.
In fact, I have spent most of my life trying to figure out what I really wanted to do. Needless to say, this involves a lot of trial and error. What have I been searching for? I call it that You, Me, and Dupree moment where the "mother ship" finally speaks and you just know what to do. Some call people like me "late bloomers". I just believe that I lacked focus.
Nonetheless, now that I know for absolute sure what I want to do and how to accomplish it, I believe that the word "focus" has been greatly abused in today's society. This results from a society that focuses more on finding the right career than finding life purpose. In doing so, we become dream killers.
Some would call me a "Dreamer" and quote the song about not falling in love with one. Those that would, have a good bit of truth on their side. Nonetheless, they overlook the message found in the Apple ads in the late 90's that stated, "Those that are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do."
I am crazy.
