What do you say about milk-curdling success? Dilbert-creator Scott Adams liked one of the tweets on our Frak That Twitter today. I am less enthused and disagree with Scott’s blog post spotlighting similar topic: Billionaire backing third-party lawsuit…
There is something very old media about new media Gawker, which makes the public's right to know a pillar editorial ethic.

The #DumpTrump crowd clashed with the candidate’s supporters here in San Diego this afternoon. Ha! I didn’t know he had come to speak—at the convention center. Trouble started around 4 p.m. local time, following his speech. I’m more taken back by the…
Trump supporters and protesters clash following the candidate's San Diego speech. Five-hundred cops in riot gear clear the streets and arrest stragglers.

Been there. Done that, too. :) Hehe.

His money quote:

"Driven by the kind of passion that can only be found in the recently converted, I have aided and abetted friends in renouncing the sins of gluttony and pride uniquely found in the House of Apples. I have helped them find salvation with the Book of Chrome. Glory be the Kingdom of Chrome, for your light shines down upon us at a quarter of the price".

Blessed are the switchers, for they shall inherit the InterWebs.

Chromebooks have surpassed sales of Mac laptops in the United States for the first time ever. And that doesn’t surprise me. Because roughly a year ago I made the same switch. Formerly a lifelong Mac user, I bought my first PC ever in the form of a Chromebook. And I’m never looking back.

If Chromebook replaces your Mac, you weren't doing anything on the Mac anyway, so of course it doesn't matter. No sketch, affinity, Photoshop, no way of using processors (sass, pug, etc)

Rarely do Cali and Neko sleep together like this, but the Tortoiseshell is having an off 7 days or so. She seems unsettled. Yesterday, the petite feline watched the Apple TV Aerial screensaver for the longest time. I do mean attentively watched. Perhaps…

The answer might surprise you. #chromebook #android
Answer: Your kids. Chromebook leads laptop and desktop sales through U.S. commercial channels to schools, according to NPD. Education is overwhelmingly the primary market for the computers. The institutions can't buy enough of the thangs, for their utility and low-cost compared to notebooks running either OS X or Windows. That cost is as much about extended webapps and services from Google (or its developer partners), available for free or compar...

#Google gives good developer. Will #Apple?
Depending on the day, Apple or Alphabet is the world's most valuable company as measured by market cap, and both manage the two dominant computing platforms used anywhere: iOS/OS X and Android/Chrome OS, respectively. As I write, Alphabet-subsidiary Google holds its annual developer conference. Apple's event starts June 13.

For reasons even I can’t explain, I’ve slowly started to complete a number of lyrics with melodies written decades ago. The verse below is among them. I banged out the first draft, through to the chorus, during my senior year of high school. Today, I…

A report available today from Pew Research Center finds that 62 percent of American adults “get news on social media, and 18 percent do so often”. Those statistics should frighten new and old media, but more so critics like billionaire Peter Thiel, who…
Destroying Gawker might seem like an enviable outcome for one of Silicon Valley's tech elite, but everyone loses, even Peter Thiel.

Time for a new design ethic, #Apple.
Washington Post reporter Hayley Tsukayama asks, following up on a commentary by software developer Marco Arment:

"Call Joe"

"Joe Who?"

"Joe Wilcox"

"Sorry, I didn't get that. Try again."

"Joe Wilcox"

"Calling Joe Wilkinson"

"Stop!"

"Music Player Stopped"

"Hello, Joe here."

"Joe who?"

"Joe Wilkinson. Hey? Don't you owe me a lot of money? Pay up, you schnook, or I'll be sending Guido around, and you'll be hoping Obamacare is still in effect."

I like explicit actions, and buttons can do that in a way current speech applications can not deliver, whatever their promise.

Fifteen years ago today, the first Apple Store opened at Tysons Corner Center in McLean, Va. I was there, covering the event for CNET News. Four days earlier, then CEO Steve Jobs briefed journalists—bloggers, bwahaha, no—across the way at upper-scale Tysons Galleria. Most of us thought his scheme was kind of nuts, as did analysts, and news stories reflected the sentiment. Recession gripped the country and rival Gateway was in process of shutterin...

Introduction
I am an award-winning journalist, writer, and real Maniac, being born and raised in Caribou, Maine. But I currently live with my immediate family far from home, in San Diego, Calif.

I am an experienced analyst, consultant, editor, journalist, and storyteller. My communication skills are broader than just the written word. I have appeared on CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, and other radio or TV networks or programs discussing technology and its related cultural and business impact.

During the second decade of the Millennium, my main worklife focus is producing original content, which could make you the star. I contend that "every life is epic", and through storytelling show by how much.

I am available for editing, writing, or speaking gigs and can be reached by Gmail, or you can private Circle or Hangout. Be warned, if you want to hire me: My investigative storytelling style is provocative. I want people to think about things from different viewpoints.

They say you can judge someone by their playlist or what they read. I subscribes to:

  • Economist, Nature, and Rolling Stone on iPad
  • New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post on web and digital devices
  • Entertainment Weekly, Mother JonesNew Yorker, and Vanity Fair in print, on web, and digital devices

But often the most valuable content comes not from paid professionals but people posting to social networks (hehe, Google+), Medium, and blogs.
