Great article. Mob justice via social media is why I've all but deleted my non-Google+ social media accounts. I enjoyed extending my thoughts on the topic by considering the effects of irresponsible journalism. Thanks

Do you see anything missing? Nothing essential other than most of the content per page. At times like these my paranoia meter rises and I resist, often with difficulty, giving in to conspiracy theories. This problem started with installation of iOS 9 Beta…

Candid street portraits rarely capture as much character—eh, from cops—as today’s selection, which Brett Sayer captured on April 22, 2013, using Nikon D7000 and 50mm f/1.8 lens. Vitals: f/2, ISO 100, 1/400 sec, 50mm. The prime, and another—the 85mm…

Good urban photography is as much about the past as the present—or, better, intersection of the two. For that quality, self-titled “Railway History Slowly Rotting Away” takes the Day. Diego Torres Sylvester explains: “An old British Armstrong-Whitworth…

If you'd asked last week whether I would purchase a #windows10  PC on launch day, the answer would be "No". Now look what I've done.
My brother-in-law's Dell laptop, so old it shipped with, and still had, 1GB RAM, died last week. He emailed asking my buying advice about a Windows 7 replacement. Reasoning: He would move up from XP. But his dad stepped in, offered to pay, and I, acting as agent (being the more knowledgable about computers), suggested $400 budget. By coincidence, shopping day coincided with Windows 10's launch.

Other than perhaps physical size, today’s compacts little resemble models that advanced the category, like the 3.3-megapixel Canon S20 I purchased in mid-2000. Price differs, too. The then state-of-the-art digicam sold for about $900, if I recall rightly.…

I don't see the problem. Facebook should close the accounts for terms of service violations to sidestep the order. It's a friggin' free service. If you don't pay, you have no say. Besides, why would anyone fight to use FB, even anonymously?

More seriously, anonymous accounts can be used to launch troll attacks, particularly where websites rely on FB for commenting system because people are identified. The court fails to see the far greater consequence of unleashing anonymous commenting trolls into the FB community.

Facebook told to allow the use of fake names
Facebook comes in for a lot of criticism, but one things that managed to rub a lot of people up the wrong way is its real names policy. For some time the social network has required its users to reveal their real name rather than allowing for the adoption of pseudonyms. This has upset many, including musicians and the drag community.

#windows10
Microsoft officially launched its newest platform release today. OEMs like Acer, Lenovo, and Dell are shipping computers loaded with Windows 10, while some of you can claim free upgrades now. But will you? We want to know, as perhaps do other readers considering whether or not to make a go.

Introduction
I am an award-winning journalist, writer, and real Maniac, being born and raised in Caribou, Maine. But I currently live with my immediate family far from home, in San Diego, Calif.

I am an experienced analyst, consultant, editor, journalist, and storyteller. My communication skills are broader than just the written word. I have appeared on CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, NPR, PBS, and other radio or TV networks or programs discussing technology and its related cultural and business impact.

During the second decade of the Millennium, my main worklife focus is producing original content, which could make you the star. I contend that "every life is epic", and through storytelling show by how much.

I am available for editing, writing, or speaking gigs and can be reached by Gmail, or you can private Circle or Hangout. Be warned, if you want to hire me: My investigative storytelling style is provocative. I want people to think about things from different viewpoints.

They say you can judge someone by their playlist or what they read. I subscribes to:

  • Economist, Nature, and Rolling Stone on iPad
  • New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post on web and digital devices
  • Entertainment Weekly, Mother JonesNew Yorker, and Vanity Fair in print, on web, and digital devices

But often the most valuable content comes not from paid professionals but people posting to social networks (hehe, Google+), Medium, and blogs.
