We celebrate someone who made a phone and who made mindless movies so I think we should think more of someone who got us to think that all people are...people. RIP Nelson

Damn. I'm using an iPhone till my phone is repaired
One app made me love Android and BLOWS AWAY iOS.

One app. Shows just how much a small team can do to change my world.

The app? http://corp.everything.me/ At the end of Gillmor Gang I showed it off http://techcrunch.com/2013/06/08/gillmor-gang-back-in-the-ussr/ and I'll do a comparison to iOS 7 after Apple announces it.

Open systems are the future. Everything.me made my phone much more productive than my iPhone. Apple needs to open up and open up in a major way. Android is starting to pull ahead BECAUSE of its openness.

At +Rackspace this is why we are so supportive of open source and open systems. Such systems usually start out slowly and seem ugly but eventually they enable innovation the others can't match.

Everything.me has me in LOVE with Android finally. Took two months.

Samsung's ads are always very clever. I like how they show people using the features - Samsung Galaxy S4 Ad - Graduation Pool Party

This is amazing!
For two months, Grady Hofmann lived vicariously through a robot.

Following a bone-marrow transplant last year, the US schoolboy was confined to an isolation room in a hospital.

Watch how the robot helped him live his life at home and in the classroom from his hospital bed.

The Nik Collection by Google: photography first, for professionals and more

Here on the Google+ Photos team, we're busy building tools for all kinds of photographers. Today, and for all the professionals out there, we're bundling the complete set of Nik plug-ins as the Nik Collection by Google. We're especially excited about three things:

1) It's more affordable. The entire set of plug-ins for Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture only costs $149 (versus the previous $499).

2) It's really powerful. The Nik Collection by Google gives you tools for everything from noise reduction and HDR imaging to creative effects and image sharpening (and lots more).

3) It's free to try. You can visit niksoftware.com for a 15-day free trial of the Collection.

If you've already purchased one or more Nik plug-ins in the past, then don't worry, we've got you covered. In fact: we're going to upgrade you to the entire Nik Collection by Google for free. Just keep an eye out for emailed instructions in the next few days.

Once you've got a Nik Collection shot that you're excited about, feel free to share it with the Google+ community. Simply tag your public pictures with  #nikcollection , and we'll reshare some favorites from the +Google+ page. We can't wait to see what you'll create!
