Many of these should work on Android Wear too (though I haven't tried them all).
What to know what you can command Google Now to do with just your voice? The list is more extensive than you might think!

Flappy Bird is the new "Hello World" for developers. Want proof? Here you go: #androidwear
The fledgling Android Wear platform has received its first game today, and its a doozy. Not surprisingly, the game is a clone of everyone’s favorite time water, Flappy Bird. Flopsy Droid is the  title of the first wrist-bound adventure, featuring a flappy droid in lieu of Flappy Bird’s, um, bird. Other than that, Flopsy Droid is… Read more

Apps for Wear! This is just an initial list, there are more to come...

Apps for Android Wear launching today!
A collection of apps for Android Wear is now available on Google Play (goo.gl/LHjWNr)

In addition to notifications bridged from the phone, Android Wear allows developers to write code that runs directly on the wearable. Nearly all the APIs Android developers are already familiar with are accessible on the wearable allowing fully customized UI, reading sensors directly, integrating with voice actions, and sharing data between the phone or tablet and the wearable.

We've worked with some friends to create some great early Android Wear integrations.  Please take a look through this photo album for more inspiration and start extending your app for Android Wear today!

"Android Wear blows away the smartwatch software we've seen from Samsung and Pebble."
It still requires a phone, but there's no better way to deal with notifications.

Google's Dart language is now an official ECMA standard with the catchy name of ECMA-408. ECMA may not be a household name, but if you're reading this, your..

Awesome!

The response to Wear Aware has been incredibly positive, so as a token of our appreciation, we wanted to give you something back. One of the first feature requests we got was to make the watch help in finding the phone. Today we are launching the Phone Finder feature in Wear Aware. Just say "OK Google, Start Phone Finder" to trigger an alarm on your phone. This is one little improvement that really makes a huge difference when you are trying to find your phone at home. The new version is being rolled out on Play Store now bit.ly/wearaware.  Again, brand new app and functionality so there are probably bugs around. Feedback is welcomed as always.   #WearAware #AndroidWear

EXACTLY. it's becoming less and less about the underlying OS.

And this is why you should put less stock in the "but most Android phones don't even run the latest version" arguments, charts and comments. ;)
Summary: Every Android phone or tablet running Android 2.3 or better is getting a software update thanks to Google Play Services 5.0. It’s rolling out worldwide now and brings a bunch of new features announced at Google I/O to millions of Android devices.

So happy I can finally wear what I've been working on for the last 3 months in public. This little device has rapidly risen to my must-take item when I leave the house.
