For most of us, we don't know what is defined as poverty. Here's a start. It's not about how hard they work or how much they "want" success as some might lead you to believe.

Can you live on this? Give back today on #GivingTuesday and everyday with your time, money, and attention.

This post was in response to a business leader who I trust that equated sharing a scarcity mindset to that of living in poverty. It isn't the same. At all.

I just re-upped for another year of PureVPN service. If you use public or free wifi, you should secure your connection from eavesdroppers.

Their service has always been very fast and they offer hundreds of locations around the US and the world to route your connection. Easy to setup and use on all my devices and OS's.

You can learn more and sign up here: http://goo.gl/60vQoI

They have a neat promo going on where you can get an extra year of service free when you buy one year. $45 is a steal for two years of quality VPN service.

I think you'll like it. Great security when using wifi on the go. And it plays nicely on all my devices. :)

Being complex isn't cool anymore.
Often, when I hear entrepreneurs speak about their products, they relish in the fact that it’s complex, or in the very least, proprietary. Unless you want to achieve record-breaking Weissman Score for file compression, complexity isn’t sexy. Not to customers, not to investors, not to the market. I think about the smartphones we use. A …

With all the talk about paid social marketing, maybe it's time we get back to the drawing board and talk more about organic marketing.

Many app developers would stand to gain a lot by investing more into their organic marketing efforts.

#apps   #developers   #startups   #growth
Developers must nail their organic marketing efforts first before investing in paid media.

Joe Manna loves small businesses, fast cars and social media!
Introduction
Hello! I am the Social Media Manager at Local Motors, where I support customers and product content/programming for the automotive community. Much of my work is found behind-the-scenes closely measuring the content performance across social media and for the business itself.

Previously, I helped thousands of small businesses succeed while at Infusionsoft. I've led a number of programs while at Infusionsoft including the developer partner program, content marketing, and pioneered its social media and community program.

Outside of work, believe it or not, I closely follow the world of startups, small business and social media. When I'm not behind a keyboard, you can catch me behind the wheel of my 2014 Ford Mustang. I love road trips and working remotely, so I may be in your 'hood sooner or later.

I'm often asked what name to call me. You can call me "Joe Manna" or "Joseph Manna," it doesn't bother me. Most of my friends know me as Joe. :-)

I took my '14 Focus in for an install of a Magnaflow catback and they did an excellent job. I was able to find a kit for an insanely low price on Amazon. They responded to my quote on Yelp and they didn't have an issue with me coming back a month later to do the install. As other reviews have suggested, they are popular. People bring their daily drivers and race-ready vehicles here for a reason. They are quick and have plenty of experience because it is their specialty. One nice factor I liked about this shop, they called me when there was an install snag and wanted me to confirm a tweak they had to make. This demonstrates their attention to customer happiness and detail. Much appreciated. The install was clean and professional. The muffler itself was stealth and not misaligned or cheaply installed. No squeaks or noises at all since they installed my catback. As they suggested, it wouldn't be loud and it wasn't, which is what I was looking for. It took about an hour from dropping it off for the install, and literally my kit was still in the box. The waiting room could use a little tidying and maybe a better AC, but that's about all that can be improved. For future exhaust installs, Performance Muffler is my place to go.

I rented a property located at 2338 W. Madison St. and stayed there for a full 13 days before the first burglary. My contacts at IH were nice, but were not willing to break my lease since I was convinced to leave. I demanded they make property improvements if there was any chance I'd stay. They said they would think about it. Two days later, the second burglary happened. My contacts at IH were unresponsive for 5 hours during the next business day. Upon further research, there were three previous incidents at this property. Two burglaries and one home invasion, all while IH was the property owner. I believe their lack of disclosure was relatively deceptive. Eventually after numerous phone calls and heated exchanges, IH agreed to terminate my lease, refund my deposit, and next month's rent that I pre-paid. Once that was set in motion, they were easy to work with. To be honest, the house is the nicest house on the block, which makes it a target. The revolving door of tenants ensures that burglars have fresh prey. 60% of the neighborhood is living below the poverty level. Beware that when you live at this property, you will be targeted. You should have an attack dog and a firearm on you so you can live there for more than a month. They really ought to disclose past property and violent crimes against the house in the previous year. Maybe the patched up holes in the wall, new rear glass, and damaged door strikers are hints for the next renters. Despite all this, I would consider IH again in the future in a decent neighborhood. This house should be sold so it's out of their inventory. Check all the police reports on your rental BEFORE you sign so you know what you're getting into.

I had to move recently and had to use the Budget truck rental service here. (This place is dubbed Storage West, but they offer Budget trucks here.) The service was great, the truck was pretty good and the experience went about as smoothly as any rental experience can go. The woman at the front desk was friendly and cared about the customer experience. The truck itself was fine. I noticed the suspension was very stiff and you could feel every bump in the road. This was both empty as well as weighed down. Not sure if there's anything this place can do other than lowering the tire pressure and replacing shocks all the way around, but if you're expecting the softest ride for your valuables, you won't find it here. What could be improved? Internal staff communication. It would be a good idea if they both had radios so they can page each other on the property. Even GMRS walkie-talkies would be a good start. What makes this place get five stars? Well, I can tell it's a small business. They did everything they could to make me happy and offered their services affordably. They are friendly and pretty easy-going. If I had a question or a concern, they answered it promptly and favorably. If there room to improve? Sure, but it's not something I'll knock them for.
