Can anyone explain why the model number has changed on the G Watch R went from W110 to F269

Maybe that was changed as a result of the ability to have multiple Android Wear devices connected.
You would need a way to be able to tell the devices apart if you happened to have 2 of the same model of device connected (since the device name is what appears in the Android Wear app), although that is less likely than having different models of device connected.

+Joe Lavinas Funny! It started as black but I liked a mod someone did with the texture! The black background is still in there. Just delete layer 6 (should be the texture) or set the display to never or opacity to 0 for the layer. Should bring the original back.

After reading this information and seeing the amount of testing done on the wifi side of watch it's easy to see that LG had future plans for the G Watch R to have wifi connectivity.

As Google mentioned, the WiFi support will allow the watch to stay connected to the phone when linked up on a wifi network, and the networks don’t have to be the same so devices could in fact be left at home while you take your Android Wear Smartwatch with you. Unless you have the original LG G Watch, which apparently isn’t going to get this new feature with the Android 5.1 update. This is a sad day for LG G Watch owners surely, especially if they had been looking forward to using it, but LG has stated the G Watch doesn’t have the requisite hardware to support the feature so it will not be getting it after the update hits at any point.

The good news is that anyone who is using the LG G Watch R or the LG Watch Urbane, both of which have the hardware needed to support it, will see the WiFi functionality come in and will be able to use it to their heart’s content. Along with the two latest LG Android Wear smartwatches, both Sony and Motorola have confirmed that their devices will get the WiFi support as well, and we can probably expect it to hit any of the newest Android Wear devices like the ASUS ZenWatch, and the Huawei Watch for example. The update hasn’t hit devices yet, and is expected to release in the upcoming weeks.

+Andrew Jones-McGuire Oh yeah, totally agree with you. That is false advertising to the max. I really hope all of you who purchased the GWAR get something back. It's bullshit

I have a total of 4 LG devices, I have become seriously disappointed with the customers services of this mobile giant. I am sure many of you that have G2 minis are wondering when you will be getting lollipop considering Korea received the update back in January. Well that's what I am wondering too and to make maters worse the rumor of the g watch R not supporting WiFi has put the icing on the cake. I have today decided that all 4 of my lg devices need to go and have put them up for sale. That would be a g watch, a g watch R, g2 mini and my Nexus 5. I have already purchased my moto x and moto360 as I know that customer support and services is much better and at a higher standard. +LG Mobile Global+LG Electronics I am probably not the first to take this action but am sure that there are many out there that will be following suite. All you have to do to try and prevent this from happening is provide information to your clients. +LG Mobile Global when will the LG G2 and G2 mini be receiving lollipop and Will the G Watch R support WiFi? 2 simple questions which could prevent many g watch r users from getting rid of their device and the same goes for G2 mini users. +LG Mobile Global give the World and answer!!!!!!!

G Watch R was good before the 5.1 update and it will be just as good after.
