Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, increase charisma, and improve sales . Ellen Langer, a professor of Psychology at Harvard University, is perhaps its chief proponent.  Her landmark work ‘Mindfulness’, started a movement which is becoming ubiquitous in our schools and workplaces. Outstanding piece on the origins and commercializing of the word 'mindfulness.'
If the word seems like a badge for the self-satisfied set, it’s because its true meaning has become obscured.

MindSpace has it's first publication in the journal Mindfulness, thanks to Julien Lacaille of McGill University.
http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12671-015-0416-5
An important presumed mechanism of change in mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) is the extent to which participants learn to respond mindfully (i.e., return attention to a nonjudgmental present-oriented awareness) in daily life. Because existing measures that assess mindful responding are not sensitive to contextual fluctuations that occur in people’s daily lives, little is still known about how people’s ability to respond mindfully to daily ...

Bad news for people who spend many hours sitting at a desk: you should be exercising at least 150 minutes/week.
Two new studies suggest that the ideal dose of exercise for a long life is a bit more than many of us currently believe we should get, but less than many of us might expect.

Some interesting reflections from Dr. Sarah Roberts going through our Deepening Mindfulness Practice course.
I’m participating in MindSpace’s new six-week Insight (Vipassana) Meditation class, taught by Daryl Lynn Ross and Muriel Jaouich from True North Insight. The course is called Deepening Mindfulness Practice and it’s designed specifically for MBSR graduates. The insight meditation perspective is a compelling complement to the MBSR approach to mindfulness developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and …

some practical tips for mindful speech
It’s no secret that good communication is the secret to happy relationships–at work and at home. In her book “Real Happiness at Work,” mindfulness teacher Sharon Salzberg devotes an entire chapter to mindful communication. Her three-pointed strategy is simple and effective: before you speak, consider whether or not your comment is true, useful, and kind. …

I went to High Performance with a chronic injury that was really dragging me down. I ended up working with Jaime who took the time to assess my situation and really understood my problem. I was blown away by how efficiently she worked and got me back to my regular sports routines. The atmosphere there is awesome - upbeat and fun - but they really know how to get the job done!
